Scatterheart Lyrics
Black night is falling
The sun is gone to bed
The innocent are dreaming
As you should, sleepy-head
Sleepy-head, sleepy-head:
All the love above
I send into you
Comfort and protection
I'll watch over you
But don't ask me
What's gonna happen next
I know the future
I'd love to lead you the way
Just to make it easier on you
You are gonna have to find out for yourself
My
Dearest
Scatterheart
There is comfort
Right in the eye
Of the hurricane
Just to make it easier on you
You are gonna have to find out for yourself
All the hurt in the world
You know
There's nothing I'd love to do more
Than spare you from that burden
It's gonna be hard
If I only could
Shelter you
From that pain
Just to make it easier on you
You are gonna have to find out for yourself
The sun is gone to bed
The innocent are dreaming
As you should, sleepy-head
Sleepy-head, sleepy-head:
I send into you
Comfort and protection
I'll watch over you
What's gonna happen next
I know the future
I'd love to lead you the way
Just to make it easier on you
Right in the eye
Of the hurricane
Just to make it easier on you
You know
There's nothing I'd love to do more
Than spare you from that burden
It's gonna be hard
Shelter you
From that pain
Just to make it easier on you

I'm in love with this song.
wow. this song. dancer in the dark hfsd!
Damn, I could relate too much to this song... Well that's how I feel especially towards children.
Think Radiohead's "Scatterbrain" is some sort of a tribute to this song?
i love the line "you are gonna have to find out for yourself"
I always think of a mother telling this to her child. amazing song. love it.
This is wanting to protect someone from the world, but realizing the very simple notion that you can't. If you learn to live through the storms you'll find yourself so much better off. Protecting someone from the world is keeping them from growth. Beautiful song, to say the least.
Personally, I prefer the movie version to this one. Probably 'cause I heard it first. But I do still like both.
Ha. I laughed after I saw the movie and then listened to this song.
I love how the line "You just did what you had to do" in the movie is "You're gonna have to find out for yourself" in the soundtrack. It's like Bjork is saying "Watch the damn movie!"
I love this movie...i think the movie version of this song is better. It so heart breaking..especially the end when she sings "i just did what i had to do" over and over again....you can feel the pain in her voice. Gives me goosebumps everytime. If you havent seen this movie...i recommend you do!!!
Love. Protecting the loved ones. It's so pure and sweet. I love this song.
