This is one of my favorite ryche songs, i like how the song builds up to the end and Geoff scream "'Cause you've never seen them so black". Great Song! anyone else agree, i thought there would be lots of comment on this particular song since RAge For Order kicks ass
I totally agree, it is I think in there top 5 or top 10 best songs the group ever did.
I think the song is about a Vampire who's fallen in love with a mortal and has to leave before he does the unthinkable.
Many of the songs on this album carried vampire undertones but the song could also reference a forbidden love where One person is married the other isn't.
This was the song that got me stuck on Queensryche, back in the day. This song, evidently about someone losing someone they love - experiencing them becoming emotionally distant, "I even feel alone when you're near, cuz you, never understand." But it's hard to identify to this song now after being very happily married for nearly 20 years now!
Same here, but it does still retain a kinda time travel (backwards) affect to it. Takes me back to that exact moment. Oh well, you take the good with the bad, still a killer tune.

What does all the stuff about Infra-red mean?
It’s definitely about a vampire in love with a mortal.
To me this is a lamenting love song about only understanding and responding to the stimulus of HEAT (infrared). He knows love from the heat he feels. He understands their love from the obvious heat it creates, yet cannot express it verbally or even reciprocally. Causing his relationships to fail. He is consumed and yet calmed by the heat of their love, but doomed because his sense of expression is only through heat, something others cannot experience the same way. Brilliant.
