Old Enough Lyrics
Shes old enough
She knows enough
Shes thrown up
So throw her
Out to me
And I'll treat her like she was mine
Let my belief
You got your way and I'll get mine
And I can't eat
I can't sleep
I want to thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh
While we're in this discussion
Should have known enough
Never grown enough
Alone enough
To know my
Where would be
The path I wanted to try
If it fairs to be
Good for me than I'd rather die
And I can't eat
I can't sleep
I want to thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh
While we're in this discussion
Black words always lead to something
Bury her cause her time was cut thin
All the while you just stood and stared
Never cared to help we just got carried away
Lately it seems like my dreams have started to die
It occured to me on the inside I guess so have I
And I can't eat
I can't sleep
I want to thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh
While we're in the last ones coming
Standing here with my two feet
Enjoy it now cause it won't be
Some way
Some how
The things that keep me alive
aren't livin here anymore
She knows enough
Shes thrown up
So throw her
Out to me
And I'll treat her like she was mine
Let my belief
You got your way and I'll get mine
I can't sleep
I want to thank you for coming
And why do we always laugh

The song seems to be about taking a chance on someone who ends up just up making you crazy then realizing you lost part of yourself by trying to make the relationship work. Then when you try to talk things out with the person, it's turned into a joke and you carry forward like nothing happend.
UH DURH. this is the exact same song as old enough so look there for the comments.

The State rocked. A lot. The songs seems rather mixed to me, you have to search the lyrics to find a meaning and I love that. Nickelback possibly the best all round band that I listen to. Can never get bored, especially of their older stuff. "Lately it seems like my dreams have started to die It occured to me on the inside I guess so have I" Absolutely LOVE that lyric! Whole song too of course :)

Best Nickelback song ever. I love it.
May not have the best lyrics, but is by far the best nickelback song ever put out, with breathe coming in close second
@Sobek It's possible they are some of the deepest lyrics I've read, based on my own interpretation. I do not know if he has ever given an explanation for the song.

i love this song soooooooo much! love the lyrics, love everything! the video is cool too
the state was their best cd
I agree with sliverside, I always thought the "old enough" line was supposed to mean she's too young and possibly with what you were saying is the fact that the parents dissaprove of that because of it. Not like a huge age difference but one that's like she's not mature enough or something you know? Or possibly the parents making up reasons why they don't want him to date her and the stress it's caused him...
i'm not a huge fan of the techno background and music video but i love the lyrics, Chad's voice and the guitar chorus
my opinion is that the narrator was dating her but she was playing on him, thinking she was 'old enough' and knows better but soon realized that he can't force her to date him again. i love old enough, leader of men, worthy to say, one last run and breathe equally, but I don't think it's one of Nickelback's best albums, i prefer Dark Horse or Silver Side Up.
