@LordRetard - you've almost got it, but I think it's the other way around
It's in response to all the people (including your mother) who says you'll never amount to anything and you should give up on your dreams and just get a "normal" job.
"These things you'll never be" are the reponse to criticism. "Taste your fate - all that you'll ever be" is what you should be thinking about.
Love your life unconditionally, and if people say you can't do something: chase them down, string them up and hate the ones who bring you down.
And if your biggest critic is your mother, then ... well you know what to do ...
i think its about child to mother combat
One of these days we all realise that we're all total fuck-ups, that we've wasted our lives and it's all already over. That's the meaning. You probably thought you could've meant something to the world, but you didn't, and now you work 9 to 5, monday through friday, in some dead-end job for very little pay. It's like you just gave your mother a punch in the face, 'cause she believed in you and you let her down by living a shitty life.

Anyone get the song meaning?
It isn't actually about punching your mother. I don't know the meaning but in an interview Brent states that when they were thinking of a name for the song, Troy said 'Man, this song makes me wanna punch my mother!' Hence the name.
def seems like 4 stages/emotions that someone can feel....summed up in less than 40 words....pretty killer track
