When the rain's blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I would offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
There's no doubt in my mind where you belong

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue
I'd go crawling down the avenue
There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love, mm

Storms are raging on a rolling sea
Down the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free, yeah, huh
But you ain't seen nothing like me yet

There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
Make you happy, make your dreams come true
To make you feel my love

I picked this song as my wife's and I song about a month into our relationship. This was our first dance. After I first heard this song I knew that if we were lucky enough to still be together someday and get married this would be our song. And yes just like when first danced to it on our 1 month anniversary and at the wedding I sang it to her.......yep I'm just a little cheesey and this will be the only cheesey post I make just had to.

    My Opinion

I feel that this was written to someone he love but she's not sure yet of his sincerity.

"I know you haven't made your mind up yet But I would never do you wrong I've known it from the moment that we met No doubt in my mind where you belong"

So in the song he wants to prove his love and would do everything for a chance to prove it. He promised to protect her, be there especially on times of difficulty, promised to make her happy and would even go to the ends of the earth for her to make her feel his love.

"I could make you happy, make your dreams come true Nothing that I wouldn't do Go to the ends of the earth for you To make you feel my love"

I'm going to go amazingly cliche here and say that it's about some guy confessing his love for a girl.

All the signs are there: the confession and then the situation play and then what they'd do for her.

Good song, not much I can think of to say.

who would have thought that bob dylan would have written this, he's a great writer but he's not really known for the love songs and yet here is what i think one of the 20 best love songs of all time

Actually Bob has written many great love songs, some of them are kind of hidden in deep symbolism etc. but theyre still love songs. But I think that this is probably his most straight-forward love songs, and his best other than Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands and Sara. If you like this song then check out Sara, its really beautiful to understand.

classic song about a man telling everything he'd do for a woman he loves...simply beautiful

I know you haven't made your mind up yet But I would never do you wrong I've known it from the moment that we met No doubt in my mind where you belong

^The woman for whatever reason is unsure about loving him back. This song seems to mirror a woman in my life...

i think that last verse is messed up. its supposed to go:

there aint nothing that i wouldn't do go to the ends of the earth for you make you happy, make your dreams come true to make you feel my love

This song makes me sad. I'm 14 years old and I don't feel like I have a lot of people in my life right now, and most of them think I'm screwing up my life, and this song reminds me of someone I would love to have. I wish someone would just hold me and make all this pain in my life disapear.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing

Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
