Like Fire To Water Lyrics

Different yet the same, in our soul pride and blame
The son and daughter, like fire to water
The two live within us
We pray our faith for help
Like madness and sin, kin passes to kin
The fire and water, the sacred slaughter
... All that and more told in ancient lore
Now I shall begin...
To set forth on a quest, all past is put to rest
So we shall never have to cry again
So we shall forever remain sane
The force of belief, brings me relief
Let us now unite, we fly as one
With the wings God has sent, we fly into the end...

any ideas wat this is about???

@biso i guess like many orphaned land songs is about the inner battle between good and evil, darkness and light, or the battle between abrhamic religions.

we all have inside us different sides: pride and blame, and they contradict each other like fire to water. they can't flourish together. and it hurt us and drive us crazy and misery.

so we go to religion and faith to find an answer to our blame (shame maybe a better word).

@biso i guess like many orphaned land songs is about the inner battle between good and evil, darkness and light, or the battle between abrhamic religions.

we all have inside us different sides: pride and blame, and they contradict each other like fire to water. they can't flourish together. and it hurt us and drive us crazy and misery.

so we go to religion and faith to find an answer to our blame (shame maybe a better word).

but that faith makes us fight for generations against other faiths - again like fire to water - that fight prevent us from flourish. many traditions believe that the fight is eternal, like brothers who destined to fight: cain and abel, esau and jacob, ishmael and isaac - all are metaphor for the ongoing battle between different religions.

but those different religion are not that different: we are all brothers at the end (daughters and sons).

so the answer of the song: unite. first unite inside your own self - embrace all your sides to feel complete and than you will discover the true god.

then unite all different people - as all inspire to the same things, and basically have the same belief.
