All For Believing Lyrics
Ah...
Pull back the shield between us and I'll kiss you
Drop your defences and come into my arms
I'm all for believing (I'm all for believing)
I'm all for believing if you can reveal the true colours within
I know you're black
It's your mind
So much that I am blind
But I see you painted your soul into your god
I'm all for believing (I'm all for believing)
I need to know just how you feel to comfort you
I need to find the key to let me in
Into your heart to find your soul
Pull back the shield between us and I'll kiss you
Drop your defences and come into my arms
I'm all for believing if you can reveal the true colours within
Say you will be there for me to hold when faith grows old
And life turns cold
I'm all for believing (faith grows old)
I'm all for believing (life turns cold)
Just believe
I'm all for believing (faith grows old)
I'm all for believing (life turns cold)
Just believe
I'm all for believing (faith grows old)
And life turns cold
Drop your defences and come into my arms
I'm all for believing (I'm all for believing)
I'm all for believing if you can reveal the true colours within
It's your mind
So much that I am blind
But I see you painted your soul into your god
I'm all for believing (I'm all for believing)
I need to find the key to let me in
Into your heart to find your soul
Drop your defences and come into my arms
I'm all for believing if you can reveal the true colours within
Say you will be there for me to hold when faith grows old
And life turns cold
I'm all for believing (life turns cold)
Just believe
I'm all for believing (faith grows old)
I'm all for believing (life turns cold)
Just believe
I'm all for believing (faith grows old)
And life turns cold

Do you people have a different version of this song than me or is it just that no one written this before? the version of this song that i have has a completely different ending to the one written here. i have "the sound of white" album, and the ending cuts all of this
{ I'm all for believing (faith grows old) I'm all for believing (life turns cold) Just believe I'm all for believing (faith grows old) I'm all for believing (life turns cold) Just believe I'm all for believing (faith grows old) And life turns cold }
and replaces it with this:
{ so if you're cold i will stay baby fate will guide the way i believe in what i see and baby we were meant to be just believe (baby we were meant to be) just believe (baby we were meant to be) just believe (baby we were meant to be) trust in me }
i love this bit its my favourite bit of the song and i think it sort of changes the feeling of the song. does anyone else have this ending? weird.
this song is no words...its sooo fukin gorgoues and also by an australian. aahhh i have no words. someone else better make a post. missy was unearthed on triplle J ......the god of radio stations
I haven't heard it, will have to download it tho. Love her classic Aussie sing voice, go Missy.
Missy wrote this song when she was 15. It's amazing to think that a 15 yr old even has feelings of that depth, let alone to be able to articulate them so concisely. Also, the line in the first verse is "I know you blanket your mind, so much that i am blind/But i see you've painted your soul, into your guard" Cheers! :)
I love this song :) My take on it: its about a person who is watching someone they love fall apart, watching them hurt, watching them feel pain; they want to help but don't know how. The person they love is pulling away from them, isolating themselves, doesn't believe he/she can be helped. 'I'm all for believing', could be taken on a 'I may not be able to help, but I might. Let me in. I'm all for believing...' level. Just a thought :)
i like your oppinion on it and i have to agree with you!
im sure there are more 15 year olds who have actual feelings of that depth and think about things other than shopping and boys. its not too difficult to write something like that if you feel it.
My interpretation of this song comes from personal experiences. All for believing, is about being withdrew, because of circumstance, no matter how much you love the person, or wanted to be with them. It's about knowing if they feel the same way about you, it's about having faith in the person, and living in hope. Hoping and believing that one day you could be together, and one day they could come in and find your soul. Even when "Faith grows old" and "Life turns cold" you still have to believe in that person. The person missy is singing about is holding back, and all she wants is for the person to let her in. She doesn't say much as to why the person won't let her in, so I interpret it as they aren't alowed to be together. That's just how I look at it in relation to my life. Any thoughts?
Yeah, i remember hearing this when i would've been about 14 odd, and just being amazed that someone a year older than i could write and make such a brilliant song! Innocent_eyes01, no doubt that there are many a teenager of that age who thinks about things as deep and has feelings as strong, but to say that writing something like this song, both lyrically and musically, when you're 15 is not hard, is up there with the most ridiculous things i've heard in a while...
Hear hear pods. I thought i'd made my point quite clear but obviously the kids of today just don't get it...
