(I was supposed to have some games, I'd love to play with you)
If you thought that I was leaving here
Can I find a way inside
Try to call it just an absence of faith
But I feel justified
You can't stare through this
There's nothing left in my heart
Bye for now
Just too long
There's no end in sight
Wot am I for
To be hurt more
I just don't like it here with yourself
I can't like you
Want to burn you
I wish you were dead

Cause if its hard you want out its no fun
Got left with everything
Behind your smile forget that I was left with everything
Never the same to me
Never the same to me
Never the same to me
Never the same
Its never the same
Once you played up to the end
Stop the noise
Get nowhere with your current state of mind
I even wonder why you're here please stay at home
Killing my laughter
Hurting my insides
You are played

Wot am I here for
To be hurt more
I just don't like it here with yourself
I can't like you
Want to burn you
I wish you were dead
Cause if its hard you want out its no fun
Got left with everything
Behind your smile forget that I was left with everything
Never the same to me
Never the same to me
Never the same to me
Never the same

If you thought that I was leaving here
Can I find a way inside
Try to call it just an absence of faith
But I feel justified
If its hard you want out its no fun got left with
Everything
Behind your smile forget that I was left with everything
Never the same to me
Never the same to me
Never the same to me
Never the same

(Its how I feel yeah its how I'm made yeah)

There are actually two version of it =) one says "if you call me a superstar you’re gonna have to check out the stars" the other says "I suppose you have some games, I bet you('d) love to play them".

Simply put, this has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Now, don't get me wrong: I'm not some know-nothing clunk head who just gets all his kicks from catchy hooks and who likes this song because all the cool kids at school are yapping about Lostprophets. I don't know, it's just something about this song that makes me feel all these emotions at once. Whenever I listen to it, this thing in my stomach starts moving around and I get happy, forlorn, misty, etc. all at the same time.

I'd say what I truly like about this song is the fact that there are emotions concelaed under emotions, which are seemingly concealed under another veil of emotions. I mean, the first few times I listened to it, I pretty much got the impression that it was a nice upbeat song to rock out to. That was it. But then, one night, almost immediately after watching the final episode of "Cowboy Bebop," I popped the CD in my walkman and skipped to this song. That's when the song really began to mean something to me (just watch the episode and then listen to the song. The meaning of life will be revealed). Ever since then, I've been peeling away certain elements of the song, only to find more underlying layers. I can listen to it when I'm happy, and I can listen to it when I'm sad. Hell, I can listen to it when I'm in any kind of mood! Needless to say, I really think that this song has more depth to it than just about anyone is willing to give it credit for.

Now, go seek the meaning of life. It's cooky.

actually, even though i love this band (see the handle, for example), i think they're pretty bad lyricists in general. everythings fragments. i do think this is an incredible song however.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
