Q&A
For Science Lyrics
There has been a spacecraft sighted
Flying high above the sky
Sirens declare there's one among us from Venus
Volunteers, we need volunteers
Soldiers to meet them
Have no fear
Have no fear
You will be killed right away
I will date the girl from Venus
Flowers die and so will I
Yes, I will kiss the girl from Venus for science
I'm so brave
I'm so brave
I'll be her love slave
He's so brave
He's so brave
He'll be her love slave forever
Yes, I will date the girl from Venus
Flowers die and so will I
Yes, I will kiss the girl from Venus for science
Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!
Flying high above the sky
Sirens declare there's one among us from Venus
Soldiers to meet them
Have no fear
Have no fear
You will be killed right away
Flowers die and so will I
Yes, I will kiss the girl from Venus for science
I'm so brave
I'll be her love slave
He's so brave
He'll be her love slave forever
Flowers die and so will I
Yes, I will kiss the girl from Venus for science

Not really an interpetation, but I know someone whose dad walked in while this song was playing and was confused because he thought they were talking about a girl from phoenix. Thinking about it that way kind of makes the intentionally cheesy melodrama of it all that much more funny (i.e. "signals declare there's one among us... from Phoenix!")
I think its just about some shy kid who bravely approaches a girl that is new and dates her.
It always reminds me of the Frank Zappa song Cheepness which is also inspired by '50s sci-fi movies---and both make me think especially of It Conquered the World, which when seen destroys the brain cells you would have used to believe that you had seen such a thing.
