He's got sugar on his lips
And he knows that the sickness is his
And he shows it
He just shows it
He'll give you the remedy without the chemical
Show you the picture without the scenery
All he wants is a blow by blow by blow account
Always searching for the real thing
Scratching the surface
Getting nowhere
My place has been stolen invaded by sharks
Covered in glitter as shiny as glass
The pavement is soft and sweet
The galaxy is so elite
It won't say no
It won't say yes
It won't say no
It won't say yes
Crush me with your ice pick
I am the queen
I've come to take the sweetness
And keep you down in my cave
The pavement is soft and sweet
The galaxy is so elite
It won't say no
It won't say yes
It won't say no
It won't say yes
Everybody knows I see it in your eyes
And he knows that the sickness is his
And he shows it
He just shows it
Show you the picture without the scenery
All he wants is a blow by blow by blow account
Always searching for the real thing
Scratching the surface
Getting nowhere
My place has been stolen invaded by sharks
Covered in glitter as shiny as glass
The galaxy is so elite
It won't say yes
It won't say no
It won't say yes
I am the queen
I've come to take the sweetness
And keep you down in my cave
The galaxy is so elite
It won't say yes
It won't say no
It won't say yes

i love this song!!
Curve IS maybe one of the most influential and beautiful bands to sprout of the English 90's rock scene. This is one of their early songs and typically signifies their sound, spirals of guitars, harsh drumbeats and Toni's sensual, sardonic vocals. I love the ambiguity to Curve's lyrics....but I think there's a common theme to most of them, alienation/angst and vice (a kind of leitmotiv that could also be copied by Garbage). I think you could read Galaxy in diverse ways:
Being infatuated by sex and drugs and for it, staying in a constant ellipsis.
Feeling you only belong in this dangerous freedom (''the pavement is soft and sweet''), but anyway feeling estranged from reality (''the galaxy is so elite''). And feeling that reality and normalcy never quite decides to withhold you.
Toni's relating from the point of view of someone who can't get any satisfaction and is in interpretation with this type of unsettled persona.
P.S: The song was used in the film Mysterious Skin by Gregg Araki, that has similar feelings of confusion and fringe sexuality.
I agree with your three points. good ones. i also thinks it about the music business in general, too.

F*cking hot song, and no more really needs to be said. I heard it in the car scene in the film "Mysterious Skin", and it just blew me away. Totally fit the mood in the scene.
Brilliant song with a fantastic blow-out the speakers riff and bass line.
It is clearly about being surrounded in pool of liars, druggies, users, and people who would tell you what you want to hear as soon as stab you in the back. I always got the distinct impression it was her addressing that whole horrible commercial corporate ordeal her and Dean went through with State of Play.
So it's basically about drug-sniffing entertainment lawyers, PR consultants, business managers, and agents.
