cant believe nobody commented on this song yet. this song is great. i love this song. one of the best on the album. everybody should get the album it rocks. i dont know what the song means, maybe its about drugs, or maybe its about something else. their lyrics can be seen in different views.

I think this song is about depression and just the boredom and uselessness one feels if depressed. Craig isn't exactly mentally stable; i think "I'm tired of feelin sick and useless/then speakin every other way" shows how he's once tried to hide this. It seems like he's so bored out of his mind he's willing to do anything to distract himself.
The second stanza is about his disillusionment with life e.g. "the secret garden." The chorus is kinda hopeful, saying that he was thinking negatively of his future "taken by the shadows/although we couldn't see that far" but he doesn't need dramatic change or material possessions to make him happy. He knows he'll be fine in the end.

i can hear a little bit of "wish you were here" pink floyd in here...............theres just a little part of the guitar thats the same..
Along with the Mosquito Song, a beautiful song from a band that otherwise plays very different songs. It feels very nostalgic (like time of your life by Green Day) and I'm gonna push to get it played at grade 12 graduation.
I agree with procrastinatingbum. Those sound about right to me. I love this song. It's amazing. I like the little outtro part.

One of their best songs, you totally get lost in the 'useless but will be fine' feeling. The chorus is just awesome.
i suspect that his aspergers syndrome has something to do with it. i can remember when his diagnosis was made public... i listened to the vines and found that this song seemed to 'fit in' - with the whole "i'm tired of feeling sick and useless then speaking every other way" - i.e. that perhaps he knew he was different to everyone else, but had no name for it and just had to go with that he was normal. either way its a beautiful song, i wrote the line i quoted earlier in my yr12 art piece... it captured all the ideas i was trying to get across
This is one of my favorites from the Vines, i love Craig's day dream songs. I used to wander around by the ocean at like 3 in the morning listening to this song pondering my existence. I love listening to the Doors, Pink Floyd, and the Vines -they're so far out. Their music sets such a good mood, it lets you escape all the bullshit and just clear your mind.
