Searchin4AnimalChin its 1979 .. if ur gonna make fun of them at least have it make sense.
No one has commented on this? Wow! This is a great song! I think it's about drugs. (1969 was a big time for drugs..lol..and i get that it's about drugs out of the lyrics too)
this song is great! It's amazing how The vines are becoming bigger and bigger! but i don't think this song has only to do with drugs, Woodstock was in 69!
definitely one of my favorite vines songs, and definitely about drugs. The character in the song is on this downward spiral, and ultimately destroys himself.
This band really knows how to make a good song. everyone should own this cd, its one of the best albums i've heard in a very long time. their sound makes me think of nirvana combined with the beatles....a wierd combination, yes, but these guys manage to pull it off. I can't wait to see them live again.
The Vines= next Nirvana
Next Nirvana...Nah, I don't think so.
like many and many have said this style of music is gonna soar finally our generation has something new to look up to, i mean theres so many indie bands that have fuond new styles but finally one has gotten through and soon will drive the gay pop stars out of there homes, LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!
the songs about drugs.
about drugs, theres one line saying hes gunna get stoned, so the entire song is automatically all about drugs. please, lets just calm it down people, and grow up with the drug talk, its gettin very old.this song, that song, is about drugs, to you people everything is about drugs.
now that i think about i dont know if anyone has said this because i havent read all the opinions but 1969 was a year for partying so i believe hes saying that in his head he imagines life as a party and he alwys wants to party but he says he needs to lookin his soul probably meaning he needs to think harder about his life, hes saying that he needs to stop partying because its killing him and its making all of his friends and people hate him "if i get to see you again your the only one i know" then the song sounds like an overdose or just like a major night where he trys to overdose and kils himself where it speeds up tempo and goes into this hail of guitar screaing feedbakc and drums. the he says the whoole seed thing which kinda confuses me but i think it means like he dosent know what to do anymore and hes blooming into more of a man because hes realizing its not going good for him and hes just going downhill and he is confused on whether or not he should do it or not.... thats what i think
The next nirvana? maybe not. but a great band, none-the-less, and probably the best candidate to carry on in nirvanas spirit. Highly evolved is an amazing album. everyone who owns it knows that. If you know sombody who doesn't own it, tell them to buy it.
As for the song, i don't really know. I have got one idea that nobody has posted. The opening lines make me think craig (singer) is refering to feeling disconnected with todays culture. "its 1969 in my head." and "living through the sounds of the dead." see like me to be referances to an interest in pop culture, especially music, from past decades. Lots of the other lines could be referances to feeling like a person on the outside of society, looking in. If this is right, i don't know. Just a thought.
Also, does anybody know if there are downloadable versions of some other vines songs. Hot leather, down at the club, ect.... In fact, a list of unknown vines songs would be helpful.
