To finger paint is not a sin
I put my middle finger in
Your monthly blood is what I win
I'm in your house now let me spin
Python power straight from Monty
Celluloid loves got a John Frusciante
Spread your head and spread the blanket
She's too free and I'm the patient
Black and white a red and blue
Things that look good on you
And if I scream don't let me go
A purple stain I know
Knock on wood, we all stay good
'Cause we all live in Hollywood
With Dracula and Darla Hood
Unspoken words were understood
Up to my ass in alligators
Let's get it on with the alligator haters
Did what you did, did what you said
What's the point? Yo, what's the spread?
Black and white a red and blue
Things that look good on you
And if I scream don't let me go
A purple stain I know
And if I call for you to stay
Come hit the funk on your way
It's way out there but I don't care
'Cause this is where I go
Knock on wood, we all stay good
'Cause we all live in Hollywood
With Dracula and Darla Hood
Unspoken words were understood
It's way out there but I don't care
'Cause this is what I wanna wear
Knock on wood we, all stay good
'Cause we all live in Hollywood
To finger paint is not a sin
I put my middle finger in
Your monthly blood is what I win
I'm in your house now let me spin
Feather light, but you can't a move this
Farley is an angel and I can prove this
Purple is a stain upon my pillow
Let's sleep, weeping willow
Black and white a red and blue
Things that look good on you
And if I scream don't let me go
A purple stain I know
And if I call for you to stay
Come hit the funk on your way
It's way out there but I don't care

"to finger paint is not a sin...your monthly blood is what i win"= its cool to finger a girl on her period
I feel dirty.
Celluloid is what they make guitar picks from, maybe 'celluloid loves John Fruiscante' because he's so good at guitar. Ok, that's far fetched, sorry.....
You think that's far fetched? Did you drop out of school at 14 or smth?
i find the line, "celluloid love's got a john frusciante" to be the most intriguing. i think it's a nice little contrast, as 'celluloid' can not only refer to the plastic but also Hollywood in general (i.e. the film industry as celluloid was once used in actual film). This line could be criticizing the plastic fakeness/superficiality of Hollywood but at the same time this line is realizing john frusciante is a part of this place (LA) even if he isn't a part of the fake scene or attitudes of other celebrities (thus the contrast). Thus the 'celluloid love' has an awesome person like john frusciante, whether or not he desires to be associated with all that the 'celluloid love' represents you know? as for the rest of the song...haha i'll refrain from analyzing as i just went into great depth to explain one line!
@musikleben no, it means, John called him on his cellphone...
Dude was having sex, she got her period, he wanted to get outta there. He made up an excuse.
I think Ant was just in a crazy/horny mood and decided to write a silly sex song. Just for a laugh.... That's how I see it! :D
I heard that the Farley line was about Chris Farley after he died. Everyone says he was a great person, just had some issues...obviously.
i think this song is awesome!!!
this song is about fingering a chick on her period?!?! haha that is some weird shit.
I'm a big fan. This song kinda put me off for a while though. I'm no prude. I just find the opening lines quite crude(and i wasn't meaning to rhyme). If i met anthony, i'd like to ask what he ment by it.
hahaat first i didn't really pay attention to the lyrics, i only heard "to finger paint is not a sin, i put my middle finger in" so i just assumed it was really about finger painting cause of the chorus too.. i was very confused. lol.. i mean, rhcp had written silly songs before, but finger painting?!?!? and that's the end of my story. thankfully though i have been enlightened.
Zanix are you fucking retarded? When was the last time your's or your boyfriends semen left a purple stain on a pillow? When a man puts his penis into a womans vagina and excretes semen she gets pregnant. Therfore, she would obviously not get pregnant if you just put your fucking finger in her. Anyways, yeah this song is about fingering a chick on the rag. Most of the chili peppers songs are about sexual matters, just read his book to find that out. Thats one of the reasons rhcp is a great band, because they dont give a shit what other people think about how crazy they are.
It's about a bit more than that....
@halius_noir It's obviously the red and blue that makes purple....
What does it mean? Is he blue, cause he can't fvkk, cause she on her period? Does he think that his semen is blue, because of what it represents, or smth like that...
