how can true love be better defined than within these simple but effective lyrics. This song shows how the power of love can commit our minds to overcome any barriers or obstacles just to be with that one whose mear presencecan leave us lost for words because of their eternal love, understanding and compassion. Trually an excellent song, it really doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
aw, I really wish I hadn't read Allison9481's comment, I always liked to think of it as more of a romantic song. It's still perfect, probably one of my favorites.
Omigoshh. Words cannot express how amazed I am at this song. It just brings such a great feeling of comforting love. I heard the song for the first time right now and tears just came to my eyes and I was crying.. I love this song. I can never get tired of it. I strongly agree with deankavanagh1234. This song DEFINITELY deserves WAY more recognition

"VIBE: Tell me about the inspiration for "Speechless". It's very loving. MJ: You'll be surprised. I was with these kids in Germany, and we had a big water-balloon fight - I'm serious - and I was so happy after the fight that I ran upstairs in their house and wrote "Speechless". Fun inspires me. I hate to say that, because it's such a romantic song. But it was the fight that did it. I was happy, and I wrote it in it's entirety right there. I felt it would be good enough for the album. Out of the bliss comes magic, wonderment, and creativity."

Michael has said that he wrote this about his children. One day he said he was climbing trees with them and he was so insired by them that this song came into his head.
