Little Susie Lyrics
Somebody killed little Susie
The girl with the tune
Who sings in the daytime at noon
She was there screaming
Beating her voice in her doom
But nobody came to her soon...
A fall down the stairs
Her dress torn
Oh the blood in her hair...
A mystery so sullen in air
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care,
Oh the blood in her hair...
Everyone came to see
The girl that now is dead
So blind stare the eyes in her head...
And suddenly a voice from the crowd said
This girl lived in vain
Her face bear such agony, such strain...
But only the man from next door
Knew Little Susie and how he cried
As he reached down
To close Susie's eyes...
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
Oh the blood in her hair...
It was all for God's sake
For her singing the tune
For someone to feel her despair
To be damned to know hoping is dead and you're doomed
Then to scream out
And nobody's there...
She knew no one cared...
Father left home, poor mother died
Leaving Susie alone
Grandfather's soul too had flown...
No one to care
Just to love her
How much can one bear
Rejecting the needs in her prayers...
Neglection can kill
Like a knife in your soul
Oh it will
Little Susie fought so hard to live...
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care
So young and so fair
The girl with the tune
Who sings in the daytime at noon
She was there screaming
Beating her voice in her doom
But nobody came to her soon...
Her dress torn
Oh the blood in her hair...
A mystery so sullen in air
She lie there so tenderly
Fashioned so slenderly
Lift her with care,

Michael's most beautiful and most haunting song. This is a great example of how good a songwriter Michael is. He builds up this epic story about a little girl named Susie and how she was killed because of neglection. I now people who can't listen to this song at night, because it scares them. There ain't alot of songs that hold that kind of power.
I'm one of those people that can't listen to this song at night. The very first night I heard this song was at night.. and I couldn't even finish listening to it cause it scared the crap out of me. Lol but now it's not as scary.. still pretty haunting though

now that's what i call a genius. the song was haunting, sad, but also beautiful, and with an air of mystery, all at once! too bad u don't find songs like this nowadays.

I couldn't agree with you more. I am glad there is still somebody out there that still respects Michael Jackson's talent. He is better than he is made out to be.
I heard this first when i was a little kid when history first came out, i felt very sad, such a haunting song, was and still is my fav MJ song
Such a nice song , it is too meaningful .The way it is sung is amazing and I must confess that apart from dancing he is a good songwriter too .My thanks to God .
I read that there was an actual Little Susie who was murdered in 1972, and Michael wrote this song about her. Very sad stuff... =(
This song has always haunted me, it's beautiful, but very sad as well... Even as a child, this song stuck out in my mind. One of Michael's best songs....
It's about a real girl that was named Susie that was killed in 1972. Haunting but amazing song.
This song was partly inspired by the poem "The Bridge of Sighs" by Thomas Hood.
This is songwriting at it's best and the composition as well. For a pop singer/songwriter to write classical music. This is a very underrated masterpiece.
