I know Butch - the song is about a friend of his that was an alcoholic.
To me, this song is about a guy who lost his lover because he is an alcoholic and didn't realize it til later. It's a beautiful, sad song.. one of my favorites.
I heard somewhere that this song was written about slowly realizing that Marvelous 3 was no longer together.

kk, did anyone else notice that this song bares a striking resemblance is melody to Avril Lavigne's "When You're Gone"? i noticed this all myself and was wondering if anyone thought the same... and its actually quite possible she stole this song, because she went on tour with them so this time she can't possibly say that she has "never heard the song in [her] life"
Butch wrote When You're Gone with Avril. I think he probably has similar styles in some of his songs.
really? i think thats kind of ridiculous. if i wrote a song for someone i wouldn't want it to sound the same as a song that i made. :(
