Baker baker baking a cake
Make me a day
Make me whole again
And I wonder what's in a day
What's in your cake this time

I guess you heard he's gone to L.A.
He says that behind my eyes I'm hiding
And he tells me I pushed him away
That my heart's been hard to find

Here there must be something here
There must be something here here

Baker baker can you explain
If truly his heart was made of icing
And I wonder how mine would taste
Maybe we could change his mind

I know you're late for your next parade
You came to make sure that I'm not running
Well I ran from him in all kinds of ways
Guess it was her turn this time

Time
Thought I'd make friends with time
Thought we'd be flying
Maybe not this time

Baker baker baking a cake
Make me a day
Make me whole again
And I wonder if he's ok
If you see him say hi

like said it's a women who isn't emotionally available, protecting her heart, hiding her trueself, probably been hurt in the past.. this man stayed around and she continously pushed him away...

...she thought in time she'd be able to let him in, but having being pushed away so many times he finally leaves...

..this song doesnt' really give a sense of begging for him back, but better yet just wanting another day to show him her true feelings, but she wonders if it would even matter... if another day would change anything..

..she's letting go, but wishes for another day to show him, but she ask 'what's in a day?', that's not enough time to undo the damage she's done

    ...

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
