That's all I wanted
Something special, something sacred
In your eyes
For just one moment
To be bold and naked
At your side
Sometimes I think that you'll never
Understand me
Maybe this time is forever
Say it can be, whoa

That's all you wanted
Something special, someone sacred
In your life
Just for one moment
To be warm and naked
At my side

Sometimes I think that you'll never
Understand me
But something tells me together
We'd be happy, oh oh

(Baby)
I will be your father figure
(Oh baby)
Put your tiny hand in mine
(I'd love to)
I will be your preacher teacher
(Be your daddy)
Anything you have in mind
(It would make me)
I will be your father figure
(Very happy)
I have had enough of crime
(Please let me)
I will be the one who loves you
'Til the end of time

That's all I wanted
But sometimes love can be mistaken
For a crime
That's all I wanted
Just to see my baby's
Blue eyes shine
This time I think that my lover
Understands me
If we have faith in each other
Then we can be
Strong, baby

I will be your father figure
Put your tiny hand in mine
I will be your preacher teacher
Anything you have in mind
I will be your father figure
I have had enough of crime
I will be the one who loves you
'Til the end of time

If you are the desert
I'll be the sea
If you ever hunger
Hunger for me
Whatever you ask for
That's what I'll be

So when you remember the ones who have lied
Who said that they cared
But then laughed as you cried
Beautiful darling
Don't think of me

Because all I ever wanted
It's in your eyes, baby
And love can't lie, no
(Greet me with the eyes of a child)
My love is always tellin' me so
(Heaven is a kiss and a smile)
Just hold on, hold on
I won't let you go, my baby

I will be your father figure
Put your tiny hand in mine
I will be your preacher teacher
Anything you have in mind, baby
I will be your father figure
I have had enough of crime
(So I am gonna love you)
'Til the end of time
I will be your father
I will be your preacher
I will be your daddy, whoa
I will be the one who loves you 'til the end of time

I think that all of you have gotten way too worked up over this song's meaning. Maybe it doesn't have one set meaning for one kind of love or one gender. Maybe George Michael goes a little more this-a-way than that-a-way sometimes. I think a lot people do. But if I were to interpret it straight up I would not label it pedophilia (why would he have even made the song, freaks?) . No one brings out secret desires like that through a hit song. I think it has to do with loving a female, and I think that (honestly) he can be something for her emotionally and sexually that no one else can. He isn't her father (hence the song's title), but the fact that he offers guidance shows he is older than her or HAS BEEN THROUGH more than she has. I don't think the girl he is singing to is like 12, but maybe more of the 17-early 20's range. But there is obviously amorous love going on in this song, no doubt, and it is for a girl.

To be honest, I WISH young straight guys would have this kind of attitude towards love. The world would be a much better place. Women are too mature for guys most of the time, even if they are the same age. The love he offers in this song is the happy medium of all the kinds of love we don't want.

We don't want the one guy who worships you and can't be his true self with you. We don't want the abusive guy, we don't want the overly cocky player, we don't want the guy who doesn't really care, we don't want the liar, we don't want the guy who tries too hard, we don't want the guy who uses.....sorry about the stereotypes....if there are any

He is offering "bold and naked" love, a sacred moment, a true connection, a true romantic relation with no bull sh**. Just the truth, the affection, the support, the flexibilty, the initiative, the care. At least this is how I see it, and this is the kind of love I hope to find ( I just hope this guy doesn't turn out to be Will and I have to be Grace and have to marry Harry Connick, Jr. but I would marry Antonio Banderas) Agree, disagree, I don't care. Peace out

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
