I remember hearing once this song was written about Stevie's grandfather (or maybe even her dad). Apparently, he introduced her to music at a very early age. He passed away and Stevie wrote the song. Who else but a loved one could be the "mirror in the sky?" It also seems to be reflecting on the circular nature of life. She climbs the mountain in the beginning searching for answers. In the end, she asks someone else to seach for his/her own answers. Nonetheless, a beautiful song.
Rather than asking someone else for answers, I think she's saying that she reached the top and found no answers there. At the pinnacle of the mountain, she ran into the immortal question "where do I go from here?".<br /> <br /> I do really like your recognizing the mirror in the sky as a reference to someone who has been deeply influential in the author's development. I didn't see the connection until I read your explanation.
