When the white flame in us is gone
And we that lost the world's delight
Stiffen in darkness
Left alone
To crumble in our separate night
When your swift hair is quiet in death
And through the lips corruption
Thrust to still the labor of my breath

When we are dust, when we are dust
When we are dust, when we are dust

When your swift hair is quiet in death
And through the lips corruption
Thrust to still the labor of my breath

When we are dust, when we are dust
When we are dust, when we are dust

When the white flame in us is gone
And we that lost the world's delight
Stiffen in darkness
Left alone
To crumble in our separate night
When your swift hair is quiet in death
And through the lips corruption
Thrust to still the labor of my breath

When we are dust, when we are dust
When we are dust, when we are dust

General CommentWhen the white flame in us is gone
And we that lost the world's delight
    Stiffen in darkness.
    Left alone
To crumble in our separate light
When your swift hair is quiet in death
And through the lips corruption thrust to still the labor of my breath

i think this is about a relationship that has left the two lovers broken and depressed and they are both left alone to suffer

My InterpretationI think that the song is about how we will all die one day, and all the light and fire we have inside will one day be gone. But that shouldn't stop us from living anyway.

General CommentIt’s a poem of sadness and acknowledgment. Whether of lost love or lost life, endings are truly a part of us that we neither escape nor ultimately evade.
