yeah.. I have a hard time believing nobody posted about thsi song either! it is REALLY good..i remember when i first bought the Gold CD, i must have listened to it over and over again a million times. It's just the ultimate song of dedication, it's showing how much the singer loves this girl, he's loved her for all his life and he will love her forever. maybe "deuces are wild" could be saying that she's just a crazy person and he loves her for that.. her spirit is wild and free and that's what he wants in a person..? It's just such a good song, even the melody is so nice, this would definetely make my pick of best romance songs.

makes it seem like hes singing about her as he people would try to stop him seeing her. also the repeated words "little girl" and "mamas little baby" as Diana was very young ,14, when Steven was 28. Dont know if this is right, but thats what pops in my head when i listen to this song. Anyone share my opinion?

My daughter & I were musing about the meaning of this song and came to the conclusion that Aerosmith was singing about one of their daughters' growing up. For instance, "I love you 'cause your deuces are wild" could refer to changing diapers, as in dropping a deuce. In addition, lyrics such as "been lovin' you since you was a child" and "'cause you & me are two of a kind" can easily be attributed to the affections of a father.
Also, the song was written by Steven Tyler in the winter of 1988 when his daughters Liv & Mia were age 11 & 10, respectively--a time when one would expect a father to look back and reminisce about his children growing up. Plus, shortly after the song was written, Liv changed her last name to Tyler (her mother admitted Steven was her biological father when Liv was 8 or 9 years old).

It's about a guy that has been in love with a woman he has know since she was young. At some point they were lovers possible a one night stand. Everyone can see they love each other but don't dare say it bc they disappove. He knows she's different from anyone he's ever met, she's a wild card, she doesn't do what everyone would do. She doesn't have to say anything, all she has to do is just look at him and he can't help feel euphoric or stoned and that's why he loves her. She is always close by but he's is with someone else but she is the one he's begging for in his dreams, the only one he really wants but can't be with.
maybe it's more cliché...but the way they sing it, write it down and all that feeling in it makes it better then some ppl think.

Drug addiction? Where does it say anything about drugs? I'm not saying you're wrong, i'm just saying I see no mention of drugs, literally or metaphorically.
Seems to me that he's just in love with this girl who is perfect for him, she's exiting and constantly full of suprise, hence her 'deuces' being wild. I may be wrong to, I was confused for a long time with the line 'Deuces are wild'. I'm really just settling on the theory i cam up with that fits it most... I'm not satisfied though - which is what this site is for. Would be great if more people posted their opinions on this great track though.
