I always thought it was about depression. Insomnia, fatigue, sadness, hopelessness, social isolation, and lack of interest in your passions are all symptoms of depression, and the way the song is sung is very subdued. It can't be about apathy towards feminism; tonnes of people are apathetic towards feminism without having to drag themselves out of bed. Plus, I'm pretty sure "won't be coming to your benefits" is actually "won't be coming to your benefit" -- referring to a specific benefit that's taking place soon, like how she missed a specific party.

I don't think it has anything to do with not doing anything, and therefore not supporting feminism, I think it's about how you 't always be there on the spot when people want you, because you have your own shit to deal with, and you sometimes have bad days, too.

I read in an interview that it's supposed to be about people bitching behind Kathleen's back about her being a feminist, and how they saw it as doing nothing, hence the apathy angly.

I really think the song is about dealing with feeling feminist burnout while also dealing with the expectations that come with being a woman. In the line "so go tell your friends I'm still a feminist, but I won't be coming to your benefit" it seems like she's saying to some critical (male) person, 'yeah, I believe in feminism, but you're an ass, so fuck you and have a nice day,' but that's just my opinion.
