This is a great song. I think that Wes is revealing that during his school years, he has always been struggling with getting assignments done on time for the good grade he wants. Time is running out to turn the assignment in... hence the title "Hour Glass Man".

This is from their CD "Abrasive" which was released before they were on a major label. They also have a CD called "Stuck" which was released way back when. Here's the tracklist for those two CD's if anyone cares.
