Old Town Lyrics

The girl's a fool, she broke the rules, she hurt him hard
This time he will break down
She's lost his trust and so she must know all is lost
The system has broke down
Romance has broke down

This boy is cracking up
This boy has broken down
This boy is cracking up
This boy has broke down

She plays it hard, she plays it tough
But that's enough, the love is over
She's broke his heart and that is rough
But in the end he'll soon recover
The romance is over

This boy is cracking up
This boy has broken down, yeah yeah
This boy is cracking up
This boy has broke down

This boy is cracking up
This boy has broken down, yah, yah, ha
This boy is cracking up
This boy has broke down

I've been spending my money in the old town
It's not the same honey, with you not around
I've been spending my time in the old town
I sure miss you honey, when you're not around
When you're not around this old town

Ola

This boy is cracking up
This boy has broken down, hehehe yeah
This boy is cracking up
This boy has broke down

This boy is cracking up
This boy has broken down, ha yhaha
This boy is cracking up
This boy has broke down

I think it's straightforward - it's about a guy and a girl. The guy cheats on her ("she broke the rules, she hurt him hard" and "he's lost his trust and so she must know all is lost"). He's completely crushed over the matter, but tells himself he'll get better. Then he goes to the town where the two lived - it seems he's still living there - and all the places remind him of her. In short, he's "broke down" and missing her.

On another note, I hope people know this is a cover of Phil Lynott's song (he's from Thin Lizzy).

Oh I just knew this was the cover. But I really enjoy their cover, especially the played live on mtv unplugged. Gosh it was years past, I was still in elementary school. Yeah it's pretty straightforward. One question, whom the "I" refering to? Is it "the girl", or, another girl who have loved "the boy" secretly while he had relationship with "the girl" who made his heart broken?
