Comfortable Liar Lyrics

Broad is this sea
The salt enters the wounds
My take on you is simple

So heal
Your fear
To heal
Your fear

Time spent waking off shore
The calm before the storm
My take from you is simple

So heal
Your fear
To hear
Your fear

You're such a comfortable liar
You're such a comfortable liar
You're such a comfortable liar
You're such a comfortable liar
You're such a comfortable liar

So calm
Cause I said wrong
You comfortable liar
You comfortable liar
You comfortable liar
You comfortable liar
Liar

For me, this song is about knowing someone is a liar, and then calling that person out. "Broad is the Sea" -Pete recognizes a liar and the liar's sea of lies

"the salt enters the wound" -if you have a sea of lies, some salt is going to enter people's wounds..kind of like lies adversely affecting relationships

"my take on you is simple"..... .....your a comfortable liar

"so heal here you're free" -Pete watches the liar feeling free because he/she has lied and no one knows. the liar feels free because of the illusion that the lies have made

"time spent waiting offshore" -Pete maybe enters a relationship with said liar or at least stays around them and avoiding the problem and confrontation

"the calm before the storm" -Pete notices everything is calm for the liar because he/she doesn't know that they will be called out,

he repeats how the liar is free and then calls them out...

"you comfortable liar" the phrase is so compelling because it shows how the liar has had time to establish themself with a sea of lies, becoming something that they are not

"your so calm" -his anger begins to mount as the liar seems so content

"CAUSE I SAID WRONG" -calls out the liar and chaos ensues, just like he said it would when he said "the calm before the storm"

I feel like I recognize what he says here because I can relate with the liar and have always been nervously anticipating the storm

I don't really like the repetitiveness of lyrics usually, but this song is so powerful. when he sings "cause I said 'Wrong!'"... it's so driving. I really like this song

I don't know why, but this is my favorite song on the album. I think it's the rythum that gets me hooked and I love his yell. I have no clue what the song means, but I feel I relate

@killpop the anger and riffs of this track really are what make it for me

Sometimes repetition really drives a song home. In "Tightrope" by Orange 9mm, the singer repeats the line "What if I could see the future?" 18 times, and every time it's more poignant.

the meaning to this song is kinda confusing to me. i think it's actually like a story told backwards. hes saying the person is a comfortable liar but in the 1st verse he says "Broad, is the sea The salts enters the wounds " the 1st line i believe is referring to all the lies told. The second part i believe is telling about the reality of the lies when some1 finds out and the punishment the "comfortable liar" must receive

pete uses good words to show the violence and imagery here, about the salt entering the wounds, my take on u is simple, and the storm, Probably my fav lyrically, apparently it's one of the first songs the bro's put together.

i think its about..the position a liar its set to be..without even knowing it.. when it says.. "my take on u is simple" reafering to "broad is the sea..the salt enters the wounds.." its about..when the lies get discover....and we know who and how hurts ..cuz when salt enters the wounds..holycrap..that shit just hurts!..and with the "my take on u is simple"..is the fact that the liar is expoused now..so its easy to take him/her down! sure when no one knows ure a liar..u feel comfortable at lyin..and so u keep on doin it..till the storm comes along thats their fear to be caught up while lyin..but then..someone comes alone..and says..stop dude..i know the truth..i dont know..its awsome.. that song goes to all liars..and playas ;)
