I think this song is about people calling other bands sellouts. It's reads like a citique of an elitist punk's attitude.
It IS about Jim Cherry, his drug abuse and leaving of the band. Kinda like a wake up call and maybe even a hint of an invitation back. :(
Weird to think abut now that he's dead, which he wasn't when this song was written. Just to clarify that there's no disrespect to the dead and genius.
to me this song is about expecting sympathy and attention for something your doing to yourself like tormenting yourself through your thoughts. I could be wrong about the meaning though but this song helped me.
