Can't Stand Losing You (cover Of Police Song) Lyrics

I've called you so many times today
And I guess it's all true what your girlfriends say
You don't ever want to see me again
And your brother's gonna kill me and he's six feet ten
I guess you'd call it cowardice
But I'm not prepared to go on like this

I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't
I can't stand losing you
Can't stand losing you
Can't stand losing you
Can't stand losing you

I see you've sent my letters back
And my LP records and they're all scratched
I can't see the point in another day
When nobody listens to a word I say
You can call it lack of confidence
But to carry on living doesn't make no sense

I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing you

I guess this is our last goodbye
And you don't care so I won't cry
But you'll be sorry when I'm dead
And all this guilt will be on your head
On your head

I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing
I can't stand losing you

the original version had a line about suicide in the last verse which feeder cut out :

I guess this is our last goodbye And you don't care so I won't cry You'll be sorry when I'm dead And all this guilt will be on your head I guess you'd call it suicide But I'm too full to swallow my pride

since the death of jon lee i've always found this quite a coincidence.did they know something was wrong? or was it just that, a coincidence.

thats a very interesting point flapdoodle i remember one of their last performances as a band was doing a jools holland show where the last song they play was this... I suppose like u say it could just be a coincidence, but anyway such a shame that it had to be him.. ;-(

This song was actually a b-side to Just a Day - the last single released before Jon Lee's death, adding yet more to the coincidence. The Feeder version of this song actually goes: "You'll be sorry when I'm gone". I can only assume this is because they didn't really want to sing about suicide, they aren't that kind of band.

Brilliant song though, I love the drum work at the end by Lee. In my opinion this version is far superior to The Police's version, but then I probably am biased!

In a recent Kerrang article Grant Nicholas named this as one of his favourite songs, saying it was extremely poignant because it was one of the last songs that Feeder played with Jon before his death
