I see this as death of a loved one... and a lesson to not dwell in the grief of their death, but to learn from it and appreciate your own life
The title of this song provides infinite wisdom as to what not only the actual song is about but what Crowbar is about in general. "Time Heals Nothing" if you will. And this is very true. Time will heal nothing, only the time you allocate to getting over the pain which causes you said suffering will be the cure.

This song especially makes you remember all the friends that have died before their time due to pathes chosen by addiction - not logic or reason.
It makes you remember the relatioships you've have spoiled due to your own addictions.

It raises a question however, is the "John Wayne" model for manhood what makes a true man? Or is being able to break down and express the torement and ache and move on from it -deal with it - not bottle it up and pressurize this grief what makes you become a man?
