I agree with all those who say this is a big shot record exec. I dont see how it could possibly be about a boyfriend. She is talking about a specific executive who didn't think she'd amount to anything and just saw her as a naive piece of ass who would do as he says, even if at the end of it all he wasnt going to give her what she wanted the most.

I think it refers to the older man she was talking about in Hands Clean who worked in the business. I think he only saw or used what he wanted to see/use of her - he patronised her, and didn't want to accept her as adult enough to have these great ideas she obviously has for songs etc, but obviously seems to see her as adult enough to use for sex and look up and down. She was vulnerable back then but now she's angry at she can see right through him and guys like that...and her revenge is she's a platinum-selling artist and he has no profit to make out of her coz he rejected her!
