Out of Sight Lyrics
Tell me why
Do you always forgive the things I do to you
You're too good
Or am I not too bad
Those six years
Were the best that ever happen to me and you
No regrets after all this fear
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
Tell me why
I can't find satisfaction somewhere else
Not good enough
Or am I way too bad
Those six years
I consumed all your energy
And I didn't replace
Sad enough
I can't give you what you need
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
Six years
Such a long time
Can't give you what you need
Six years
Such a long time
Something special between you and me
You and me
Do you always forgive the things I do to you
You're too good
Or am I not too bad
Those six years
Were the best that ever happen to me and you
No regrets after all this fear
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
Tell me why
I can't find satisfaction somewhere else
Not good enough
Or am I way too bad
Those six years
I consumed all your energy
And I didn't replace
Sad enough
I can't give you what you need
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
Six years
Such a long time
Can't give you what you need
Six years
Such a long time
Something special between you and me
You and me

Friendship. Song glorifies successful long term friendships. In American society long term friends are difficult to keep. Much of modern popular music in almost every genre focuses on normal romantic relationships. The powerful relationship of strong friendship has not been explored much by musicians. Hooverphonic make an exception here, with beautiful lyrics, celebrating friendship. Can relate to almost any good frienships.
hughjass, what do you think she meant with "can't give you what you need"? Does she mean she can't give the other her heart? Or can't she help him like he helped her? can't she be there like he was there? "I consumed all your energy And I didn't replace" Or can't she give him only friendship? "can't find satisfaction somewhere else"
beautiful song
Seeing as I heard the band named the albun (Blue Wonder Power Milk) because the words sounded cool together, and because they are Belgian and might not know much English, I often think their songs don't mean much of anything and are just words put together to sound cool. I love their music, but as much as I try to get the "hidden meaning" in their songs, I just think they often put words together for their sound...which is okay.
...Either that, or as another poster said, they are extremely intelligent and amazingly symbolic!

wingless dreamer, i think the song is just about friendship and not romance...she appreciates the friendship, hence the song, but confesses that she has not invested the same amount of time and energy into her friend.
I actually think this song IS about relationships.
When I listen to it, I think of being in a relationship with someone who is also your best friend in the whole world.
Although, I think if you look at the lyrics, it seems like it's someone she was with for a long time, and they realized they're not right for each other and have broken up but are still best friends, and can't seem to find anything better with anyone else...
Things like
"No regrets," "Can't Find Satisfaction Someplace Else" "I can't give you what you need...we'll always be best friends."
I think this is the sweetest song in the world!
