You didn't dye your hair and, oh, my hair went black
Now what you knew, you knew, you knew, you know what the fuck
Take all the way you get down I'll get them down
Couldn't thought, getting all the kryptonite all down
Sorry, the Volkswagen is a goddamn, goddamn pain
And he gets him anyway, what the fuck do you seeing
So what, hey, I'm going to, tonight I'm trying to lying one time
They had peared mine too when I threw you mine
Hey, I guess I leave right here, you help me out
What's all I'm trying to say I know you don't
Everyones' care, everyone, everyone, how the what the fuck you say
But I know what's going on who bought the other damn pair of jeans
One time, one time, one time, he gone he got another one
You don't care, I don't have you bathe down right in no fucking cup, one time
I can't, I can't, messed up, you took down me, start talking shit
I can't, I can't understand, you know what I mean
You got yourself a cool weekend, what time of week
Only one day, and one day, eh, you know, you know see it fit
Well I don't care, I'm getting off here, getting off with him
I get myself, I know I got myself a good pal
Well don't you know, what you knew, you knew goddamn well
And well you knew what, you don't want to play, but you'd guess that you could play
Same as when you knew, you knew nothing, now what do you have to say
And your on the way down, and I'll go down, your going to fucking trip
Well, Sam, my head will bend like hell, like nothing
Well doctor's say, you going to hold on by the fucking nuts, yeah
One time, two times I go do the craft, we're going to probably bring it
And we'll end up hearing downtown, and town, and drown, I'm trying to talk
And our friends are carefree
And you brutal us, brutal us, bring it down to your spleen
I don't care if you don't care, your shoes up in that shit
Son of God, Jesus Christ, he won't even do nothing
I'm the one most counted on, you take at the tail of the line, you scream
Close out now, always burning and I said to myself
Aaron right here, he got the gun to kill himself, he gone, I'm going to drink now
You take a look at him by yourself, thank you, Edwin
Edwin's the master of this shit, there's a master of fucking the TV master, all this shit
Edwin, well I got myself one thing, two things, three things in my mouth
Hey Sally, hey Buddy, hey burnt out
And you tie yourself to the counted on you still can't clear the line though
I kicked myself when I walked home I don't know why I . . . shit
Where the hell you go with there, hell, it's all the same
You pee on yourself, well you're going down, you stop to drink
Well I want, got two things, and don't pull my nine
Well if you are in the air and detect and I saw you left behind right?
One time you're going to get, so we can know it less
It's all in contact, two pal you waiting, then I'll get ready
And one spot up, one spot up, through your candled ground
Well I got myself what I call luck all night

Um, these aren't the Beta Carotene lyrics. Leastwise not the ones from the song willlliw sent me (thanks, man, I forgot I had the song till today). I don't know what song this is, but I'd love hear it, if anyone has it (maybe it's just another version of Beta Carotene?). Anyway, here are the lyrics to the one I have, as I best as I could tell:

I got myself the means I got myself what I call the beta carotene Perspire from all the strings I never had enough, enough to keep you stringing along

And by the pool side I watch the summer and the thought of the last ends it, bye Sometimes you give so many lifts, well Sometimes you know you're gonna have to, gonna get a ride

I need to knock the ride, uh oh oh Ain't on your friends, all they'll say is no, you know your line and You'll say, oh no, you know, you know, you know, you know you're right

I got myself the means I got myself what I call the beta carotene Perspire from all the strings I, I never had enough, enough to keep you stringing along

And by the pool side I watch the summer and the thought of the last ends it, bye And sung so many lifts You know, know, know, know, know, know, know you're gonna have to go and get a ride Gonna have to tell and get a ride Have to go and get a ride Gonna have to, gotta get a ride Gonna have to, gotta get a ride

And if you go in the water My family I know my heart will dry over And head, he needs to tell

I'm on the drone, low Living it right and I'm never anywhere And I never feel somewhere, don't you know? Oh no, I never feel somewhere, don't you know? Oh no, I never

(And now the water's right) Oh no, I know Oh no, oh no What was almost Oh no, I know, I know No, I know, I know, what it was You have hung on, I know, waterslide and Hell to pay Heaven is a collection agency I feel heaven, heaven's a collection agency Got the eye, eye, eye, eye, eye, eye, eye upon the pavement

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
