Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.
When I'm down I make a call
Got the number written on the wall
First it's busy then I try again
Oh, who's she talking to, could it be him?
I got the number and it starts to ring
I get excited and I start to dream
I start to fantasize of memory lane
Then she answers and she says right way
She says "I'm home on my own, home all alone"
So I got off the phone
She's tight
She's ahead of her time
She's tight
She's one of a kind
She's tight
She's a talented girl
She's tight
She's got her head down tight
I have something got to say to you
Amnesia and my train of thought
On the tip, the tip of my tongue
I had a vision when I was young
You floated in, we floated up
Through the window and down the hall
I had a smoke and went upstairs
Turned the door and opened the key
She spoke "I'm on my own, home all alone"
So I got off the phone
She's tight
She's ahead of her time
She's tight
She's one of a kind
She's tight
She's a talented girl
She's tight
She's got her head down tight
She's tight
She's giving me the go
She's tight
She's giving me the high sign
She's tight
We'll turn off the lights
She's tight
Pull down the shades
She's nice, she's tight
Turn on the cam'ra
She's nice, she's tight
And getting ready for action
She's nice, she's tight
She's nice, she's tight
Turn off the radio
She's nice, she's tight
She's nice, she's tight
Turn on the video
She's nice, she's tight
She's giving me the go
She's nice, she's tight
She's giving me the high sign
She's nice, she's tight
We'll turn off the lights
She's nice, she's tight

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
This song isn't about pedophilia. Not sure where you'd get that from.
It's just a fantasy scenario. The guy calls up a girl from one of those "For a good time call" posts on bathroom wall and she answers and tells him to come on over. He gets there and realizes that, yep, he's going to get laid.
It's funny that I grew up listening to this song and as a little kid I didn't get it at all. "She's Tight?" The meaning couldn't be any more obvious now that I'm an adult.
It's about getting head! She's got her head down tight. She's a talented girl. Wake up. Haven't you ever gotten blown?
Obviously, he hasn't......
@Cascademania As others have noticed, it's about a multi-talented girl, not just bjs. "She's got her head down tight" is just a (rather awkward and reaching) way to tie in the song title to the other references about bj. To any non-virgin half familiar with common English sexual discourse, the phrase "She's tight" is about anatomical elasticity of a body part that's in no way involved with getting head.
@Cascademania yes is may be about a determined girl but in the video when he says "she\'s got her head down tight" the singer points to his head and drops his head down out of the camera view as if he\'s going down on someone. So yes it may also reference a woman that\'s determined it is literally referencing a woman that\'s going down on him.
the girl he's talking about is obviously very well rounded. this is a cool cheap trick song, can't believe i'm the first to comment.
Why is there only one comment on this song before mine? This is such a good song! One of my favorites! I actually had little idea as to what this song meant until Levitator89 here made it very clear that the meaning was rather obvious, and now I feel stupid because I didn't see it before...
Just heard this the again for the first time the other day. Wow! What a great fun song.
I understand it all but "she's got her head down tight", I've never seen this expression before. English is not my native language and I haven't found a meaning for it yet.
She's tight. Her female region - it's tight. That's good, and he likes it, plus she gives good head, so he's going on a booty call. There's nothing subtle about this song. It's about as obvious/straightforward as they come.
Song about a blowy and a determined woman that\'s determined to get it done.
this band's existance is a cheap trick.
"she's tight" is about pedophilia. if you need an explaination you don't deserve to live because you're so cockshittingly retarded.
