My, out of my mind
My life, I,
my mind, out of my mind
my life, I
So confident so, self obsessed no
Compromise no, self obsessed no
My mind, out of my mind, my...
As you stare into the water
Are you scared to be forgotten?
As you stare into the water...
My, out of my mind
My life, I
my mind, out of my mind
My mind, I
Compromise no, self obsessed no
Compromise no, self obsessed so
Compromise no, compromise so
Compromise so, self obsessed
As you stare into the tide
Are you scared to be forgotten?
As you stare into the water..
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
My life, I,
my mind, out of my mind
my life, I
So confident so, self obsessed no
Compromise no, self obsessed no
My mind, out of my mind, my...
As you stare into the water
Are you scared to be forgotten?
As you stare into the water...
My, out of my mind
My life, I
my mind, out of my mind
My mind, I
Compromise no, self obsessed no
Compromise no, self obsessed so
Compromise no, compromise so
Compromise so, self obsessed
As you stare into the tide
Are you scared to be forgotten?
As you stare into the water..
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten
Terrified, terrified, terrified to be forgotten

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

Did that fail? Hmm well I'll just write it again. It's a Peach GB song, but Maynards side project/band A Perfect Circle has covered it.
