Anymore Lyrics

I can't hide the way I feel about you anymore
I can't hold the hurt inside, keep the pain out of my eyes anymore
My tears no longer waiting...my resistance ain't that strong
My mind keeps recreating a life with you alone
And I'm tired of pretending that I don't love you anymore

Let me make one last appeal to show you how I feel about you...hmmm
Cause there's no one else I swear, holds a candle, anywhere, next to you
My heart can't take the beating of not having you to hold
A small voice keeps repeating deep inside my soul...
It says I can't keep pretending that I don't love you anymore

I've got to take the chance or let it pass by
If I expect to get on with my life
With my life...

And I can't hide the way I feel about you anymore
And I can't hold the hurt inside, keep the pain out of my eyes anymore
My tears no longer waiting
Oh, my resistance ain't that strong
Oh, my mind keeps recreating a love with you alone
And I'm tired of pretending I don't love you anymore...anymore...anymore

I dont see how it can be anything but a break up song. The girl dumped him and he is pretending that he is over her, but he can no longer deny that he still loves her.

I think that he wants her back and that he is tired of pretending that he is ok with her not being in her life. He has to face the fact that he messed up.

This is a song of indecision. He remembers the way it was when he was with her and how good it was. However, he has a lot of pain inside from whatever went wrong and is scared to go back. He's not sure what his real emotions are and he feels like he's living a life of pretend and he just wants to end all his pain.

Reading some of the preceding comments makes me wonder about perspectives. Like, when I see blue, do some others see orange or something. I don't see this as a guy breaking up with someone; the breakup has already occurred. I certainly don't see indecision; he knows what he wants and is going after it.

To me, this song is clearly about a guy who split with someone; doesn't really matter who instigated it. He went around saying (and lying) to everybody, including himself, that he didn't love them anymore, in hopes of looking tough or convincing himself that it was true. But now, he's given that up, can't do it no more, and is pretty much shouting from the rooftops that he does love them, wants them back, and doesn't want to live without them.

This is a great song, hearbreaking. If you love it, I suggest you seek out the live acoustic version, just Travis and his guitar. To me, it equals the original version, a little more subdued but no less powerful.

wow. such powerful lyrics. great break up song. i don't think it needs much explaining. i do feel his pain though. i just didn't have the guts to do anything like that after i had heard this song. she was already with someone else and it felt as if it had been too long. great song though.

not really a break up sony lyricalnut. he is saying that he was pretending that he doesnt love her anymore and he really still does and he wants her to know. he knows he was letting his pride get the best of him and now he wants to tell her how he really feels and that he cant go on without her. Well, none the less its a good song either way.

I agree with lyricalnut, I think its a break up song, since he is hurting, and alot more people can relate to it more if it is a break up song. Oh well, I love this song

I think it's both.. He made a mistake breaking up with her and then just lived with it, but he's tired of trying to move on and pretending he wants to, and he wants to get back together with her. He's simply asking for her back.

I've never really looked at the lyrics before, I just listened to them. Now that Pool_Shark pointed it out, I'm gonna have to agree with him.. I think he's saying he still does love her and is tired of pretending he doesnt

Ever seen the video? This song and "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" are interlinked, they both are of the same people.

This song, in the video, is a guy named Mac (played by Travis) who got his legs shot off in war. Since then he didn't feel he could go back, after getting letter and letter from his wife, and ignoring the phone calls while he was in the VA hospital. He felt that she wouldn't love him anymore, or he had too much pride to go back with no legs. So he was pretending he didn't love her anymore. And in the end, he calls her and he goes home with her.

It's not a break up song at all. But "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" is the continuation to this song.
