Advice For The Young At Heart Lyrics
Advice for the young at heart
Soon we will be older
When we gonna make it work?
Too many people living in a secret world
While they play mothers and fathers
We play little boys and girls
When we gonna make it work?
I could be happy
I could be quite naive
It's only me and my shadows
Happy in our make believe
Soon...
And with the hounds at bay
I'll call your bluff
Cause it would be okay
To walk on tiptoes everyday
And when I think of you and all the love that's due
I'll make a promise, I'll make a stand
Cause to these big brown eyes, this comes as no surprise
We've got the whole wide world in our hands
Advice for the young at heart
Soon we will be older
When we gonna make it work?
Love is promise
Love is a souvenir
Once given
Never forgotten, never let it disappear
This could be our last chance
When we gonna make it work?
Working hour is over
And how it makes me weep
Cause someone sent my soul to sleep
And when I think of you and all the love that's due
I'll make a promise, I'll make a stand
Cause to these big brown eyes, this comes as no surprise
We've got the whole wide world in our hands

We can do anything that we want
Anything that we feel like doing

This song always makes me want to cry. It seems to me that this song is a wake up call like Harry Chapin's "Cat's in the Cradle". Spend quality time with your children because life comes and goes too quick.
"I could be happy I could be quite naive It's only me and my shadows Happy in our make believe"
The child is rationalizing the neglect. Knowing that his/her parents loves them but confused as to why they don't have (make) time for them. The child hides the hurt with make believe.
"Working hour is over" Turn off your cell phones and have family day.
This Song is very peacefull and pretty :)

Again, one of those lovely feel-good songs of Roland and Curt.
I recently found out that the lyrics: 'Love is a promise, Love is a souvenir. Once given, never forgotten, never let it disappear.' Is actually a quote from John Lennon.
Also nice reference to 'The working hour', the best song ever, from Songs from...
@OldSkool There is no evidence these lines are a quote from John Lennon. What is your reference/source for stating 'is actually a quote from John Lenn"

I've just noticed that the piano bits of this song almost sounds like the piano bits in Start of the Breakdown.
