waves caress the foamed shore below. resonating ultrasonic through the cliffs of their sound. the sun's shine is poured all around, drying the leaves and such. there is something about here, and it does me good. where we have color, eyes and movement, where sound is understood. we have living respiration, a breath echo vibration. solid sun inspiration and ground where forebears stood. here I am going, and here I will stay. I have a body to do my moving, to find my own wood. I am here to see tomorrow. I am here to breathe today. there is a rust nailed floor boarded with ancient oak wooden planks that rock and creak. Words eye. Singularity. you did not sing and I would not dream.
you are the shade breeze. you are the shade. you are the shade breeze blowing. the movers of the stream. Words eye. stops breath withholding the heart within its rib cage and it stops for a moment. Waves caress the foamed shore below, resonating ultrasonic through the cliffs of their sound. I was hoping that you would make it, and I'm happy that you could. I was hoping that you would make it. I am happy that you could. And I will see you again.

I interpret this song as about the power of creativity. He is inspired by past artists (the ground where forbears stood) for providing energy to future generations (the shade breeze blowing the movers upstream). It's their imagination and originality (singularity) that enables future artists (you did not sing and I would not dream).
this song is beautiful. amazing. thank you moss icon for making such a great song.

Moss Icon is so incredible, when I listen to this, it makes me mad seeing what emo has turned into...
great band. all has been said.and pretty much i dont really like where emo is going.
Wow. I think this song has so much emotion because of the way the lead singer delivers it. The talking in the beginning is really powerful, its like a poem to music for a little while until the music comes in. When anyone asks for a good emo song to listen to, I tell them to listen to this song. They tell me its not emo but crap, I have less friends, but I have more music. All they want is Dashboard. The direction of emo is ridiculous, i agree
I don't think he says "words eye" because it doesn't seem to make sense, but rather "words I..." -- when he first says it in the song there's a pause in the vocals for a line, and to me it sounds like he left out a lyric maybe. Seems weird but I do that sort of thing sometimes too. And yeah, this is emo and this is a fucking awesome song.
This song is so soothing... I love the way Moss Icon is so freaking original in the way they deliver songs, its like an artist club when he's sitting with bongos reciting a poem he wrote. The band isn't bound by the trends of their time, and they went the trail alone. I have yet to see a band as creative as Moss Icon was in their time. It's sad how the pioneers of emo never get the respect they deserve. My favorite Moss Icon song is still Cricketty Rise(Harverton Roads Browns and Greens) though.
There is a strong current of emo-influenced music still alive today, if you look beyond the mainstream. Most if it is post-San Diego influenced stuff, like Orchid (rip) and Jerome's Dream. It's not dead, it just took another direction.
this song is so awesome beyond words! Is there any way I could more of their songs? I live in the Philippines and the only way I could get Moss Icon is through Kazaa, and this is the only one I have! I'd like to hear all of their stuff!
