well as entire songs go i'd say this still takes the cake
oh its on! true this is very clever. but one could argue that every and any other MTX song is as/more clever than this. for isntance, even in the same album...Swiss Army Girlfriend. Me=1 Tom=0
Swiss Army Girlfriend is better as far as double meanings and such...but this song as far as rhyming lines such as "but just think; what if; they end; up with; my looks and your brains" i'd say this song is better. so i guess is a matter of opinion but anyway Me=0.5 You=1/2
This song is definitely one of my favorites of all time, and these are the interpretations and significant meanings it inspires...
Maybe his best ever. You gotta admit : "With my brains, your looks, your bait, my hooks, we could catch a thousand gravy trains" and "You just make your splash and I'll supply the cash when some comes in" and "With your looks, my brains, your tracks, my trains, we're re-writing all the record books" are all right on, funny and yet still rings true. Then the twist at the end: "You and me have a legacy that we can pass on to our kids. They could get lucky. With my brains, your looks, your knights, my rooks, they could really win a lot of games. But just think, what if they end up with my looks and your brains?" wraps the whole thing up with a funny and clever ending.
