Can't Give Up Lyrics
I don't know how to sleep
I forgot how to eat
But I hail to the command
I took my own exam
All i ever wanted
Is just to know what's up
But when I try to fake it
I always fuck it up
The basement is haunted
My heart palpitates
I'm worried about something
My voodoo of the day
It should be easy
But it's hard to give it up
The way it used to be
Was just not enough
Crocodile tears
Six packs of beer
Denying, not denying
But no one knows I'm here
I forgot how to eat
But I hail to the command
I took my own exam
Is just to know what's up
But when I try to fake it
I always fuck it up
My heart palpitates
I'm worried about something
My voodoo of the day
But it's hard to give it up
The way it used to be
Was just not enough
Six packs of beer
Denying, not denying
But no one knows I'm here

To me this song means about wanting to know what is going on around you and not feeling accepted.
If you were to go deeper, I believe you could say that it is something more of the society. Like, Political reasons and wanting to know what is going on there. As if the person wants their voice to be heard. Yet maybe is just on unemployment checks and is divorced. Now lives in their parents basement...
But overall, I believe the feeling of being unheard are in these lyrics.
I reckon this song is about trying to give up weed, specifically, withdrawal after constant use. Certainly it correlates with the experience of many of my friends over the years.
Evidence:
Why quit?
Makes sense I reckon. Great song too!
These lyrics are for a different song! GAH :(
