Crown Of Thorns Lyrics

You ever heard the story of Mr. Faded Glory?
Say he who rides a pony must someday fall
I been talkin' to my alter
Life is what you make it
And if you make it death well then rest your soul away
Away away yeah child
It's a broken kind of feeling
She'd have to tie me to the ceiling
A bad moon's a comin' better say your prayers
I wanna tell her that I love her
But does it really matter?
I just can't stand to see you dragging down
Again

So I'm singing
This is my kinda love It's the kind that moves on
It's unkind and leaves me alone
Yes it does

I uses to treat you like a lady
Now you're a substitute teacher
This bottle's not a pretty, not a pretty sight
I owe the man some money so I'm turnin over honey
You see Mr. Faded Glory is once again doin' time

This is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's unkind and leaves me alone
Yes it does
Like a crown of thorns it's all who you know
So don't burn your bridges woman cause someday, yeah

Kick it!

Baby i said com' on, com' on, com' on, com' on yeah I said baby don't burn your bridges woman

This is a beautiful song. It's so well-done. To me, I've always interpreted this song as being the story of a man who has broken up with somebody he really loved, but is trying to move on. (hence: "This is my kinda love/It's the kind that moves on/It's the kind that leaves me alone"). The line "don't burn your bridges woman", implies he's not fully over her.. but he understands. He wants her to realize he'll still be there for her, kind of thing.

I think this song is about Andy's use of heroin:

This is my kinda love It's the kind that moves on It's unkind and leaves me alone Yes it does

Andy was Mr. Faded Glory and he rode his pony all way to his early grave.

Every single place a look has one of the most poignant and powerful lines of this song wrong . The song is about addiction , and scorned love , and the futility of life . Even our best intentions are not enough , and even if everything goes right , it’s meaningless. The line is: “ Life is what you make it , and if you make it Death will wrest your soul away. “

No matter how successful you may be at life or love or kicking your habit , we all fall from the pony … death comes for us all and wrestles our life away from us .

But regardless , don’t burn your bridges , because we might both live through this addiction and find time enough left for love .

figures, considering that MLB is basically PJ with a different lead singer. They're both some of the greatest bands of all time.

yeah just take MLB, get rid of Andy (rest his sole) and the drummer, and add in Mike McCready, Ed Vedder, and Jack Irons, then take away Jack Irons, add 3 more drummers, (all at separate times) take the 3 away, and then add Matt Cameron. then you have Pearl Jam

Mother Love Bone and Pearl Jam have basically the same structure. I like Eddie's voice better, but Andrew's style was certainly much more appealing. Much uniqueness in it.

They are very different vocalist, andrew wood more a glam rock song singer. Vedder is very different, he's is more a grunge style singer if you ask me.

I Agree MLB wasn't completely grunge, they were more like Aerosmith with grunge-like music. They still rock none-the-less
