I'm going to attribute an arbitrary meaning of my own to this song. It means that if you love someone or some thing, even if it is unrequited or unrewarding, don't fight it. And then you will feel happier.
"you made me leave my happy home" I've always thought this song was about an unhappy affair. The writer left their happy relationship/marriage to be with the person they love. however, after some time together, their lover left them. the moral of the story; do not leave your happy homes folks !
