Aten-Ra Lyrics

(rise Akhetaten)
I made this monument by his hand
a drifting sun in a foreign land
ATEN-RA, ANKH-IS-RA
IS-RA, IS-RA, ISRAEL

Angel of the One
his face has been denied
from all the inscriptions
but not from the sky
ATEN-RA, ANKH-IS-RA
IS-RA, IS-RA, ISRAEL

Who is God?
His name defies belief
for no One less wrought in Heresy?
ATEN-RA, ANKH-IS-RA
IS-RA, IS-RA, ISRAEL
ATEN-RA, ANKH-IS-RA
IS-RA, IS RA, ISRAEL?
ATEN-RA, ANKH-IS-RA
IS-RA, IS RA, ISRAEL?

Is Ra El? On bookofcruxshadows.com, there's a brilliant explanation for this song. Basically, it's the question of if Ra is El (Hebrew god).

Aten was the Egyptian god of the sun disc (though not Ra--he's seperate) that Akhenaten and his father raised to the level of the one and only god while banning any other gods' existence. To me, the song reminds me of the idea that any/all gods that have been worshipped throughout the centuries are one and the same, creating the impression that all of them are nonsense.

Unfashioned said it well. And them being Chatholic really brings this song to a whole new light. They look up to him for what he tried to do.
