Full Disclosure Lyrics
i want out
i want a mutually assured destructive
life seizing separate culture to take me over
moving silent like radar
take me over and blow out my mind
full disclosure coming sponsored by no one
take me over and blow out my mind ejected
i want a mutually assured destructive
life seizing separate culture to take me over
moving silent like radar
take me over and blow out my mind
full disclosure coming sponsored by no one
take me over and blow out my mind ejected

i love how in the liner notes, it says,
"i want out! (x1000)"
I agree with The Locke-Hater, the 'I want out' bit is just about to become unbearable and it switches into the ultra-melodic chorus...fucking genius!
i was not dissapointed with the new album...it's just great...and fugazi write some of the most thought provoking songs i have ever heard....one of my favorite lines of any song ever is
i want a mutually assured destructive life seizing separate culture
Yeah, that was funny.
The vocal range and diversity in this song is truely astounding. I really love the way the grinding "I want outs" flow smoothly into the chorus, with the subtle "ooohs" in the background.
Maybe something to do with how so many things are screwed up today, (Guy) just wants something (the "culture") to take him over, since that would be easier than whatever is going on right now?
But then that last line: "Take me over and blow out my mind." That would explain what happened whenever he 'went with flow'. That's just my interpretation, it could mean something completely different.
Alright, maybe I've been watching too many ufo documentaries, but these words:
"separate culture to take me over moving silent like radar"
lead my mind to think that Fugazi wrote a song on visitors from outer space.
I think given the war theme it's about PTSD. He's rambling in this crazy manner like he has lost his mind "I want out!" like someone who's been traumatized by what he has seen in war and just wants to go back home.
Then when the melodic chorus comes in he says, "I want a mutually assured destructive life seizing separate culture to take me over. Moving silent like radar, take me over and blow out my mind. Full disclosure coming sponsored by no one. Take me over and blow out my mind ejected." Maybe he's asking to die, whether it be in combat or by his own hand. The chorus becomes less aggressive and more melodic as he realizes he has figured a way out if it's my suicide theory. It sounds like he's almost begging to die.
Or maybe it's him wanting for the war to end. If the sacrifice of his life could potentially mean an end to the fighting it would all be worth it. Maybe that's why the chorus is so uplifting. He's found the hope and courage to keep fighting on and see the happy ending after all this blood shed.
Ejected !
