Stranger In This Town Lyrics
Hey mister can you tell me
What this world's about
It might just help me out
I used to be a dreamer
But my dreams have burned
You know how luck can turn
Sometimes it's hard to find a friendly face
Feel like a stranger to the human race
It's such a lonely, lonely place
I walk alone in the darkness of the city
Got no place to call home
I might be dyin'
But you can't hear a sound
'Cause midnight rain is comin' down
I'm just a stranger, a stranger in this town
Everybody loves a winner
Till the winners lose
And then it's front page news
Nobody loves a loser
When you're down and out
You know there ain't no doubt
I'm just a victim of circumstance
Please mister give me a helping hand
Brother won't you understand
I walk alone in the darkness of the city
Got no place to call home
I might be dyin'
But you can't hear a sound
'Cause midnight rain is comin' down
I'm just a stranger, a stranger in this town
I'm just a victim of circumstance
Please mister give me a helping hand
Brother won't you understand
I walk alone in the darkness of the city
Got no place to call home
I might be dyin'
But you can't hear a sound
'Cause midnight rain is comin' down
I'm just a stranger, a stranger in this town
I mean no danger, I'm a stranger, I'm a stranger
I'm a stranger in this town...
I mean no danger, I'm a stranger...
I'm just a stranger in this town
What this world's about
It might just help me out
I used to be a dreamer
But my dreams have burned
You know how luck can turn
Feel like a stranger to the human race
It's such a lonely, lonely place
Got no place to call home

this songs sooo sad, my favourite Sambora song by far. It just conveys a deep feeling of loneliness and having no one to care for you and no where to go. Think its about the homeless but i could be wrong. Someone who was successful, then his 'luck turned' and he's a 'loser' now.
Dude isn't this great!?! He is such an amazing songwriter.. I'll cheer if I ever get half as good a guitarist and songwriter as him. Rock on!
Great guitarist, would have been better with JBJ singing though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think this song would've been better of Jon sang it. Richie's got such a beautiful voice. And it's perfect for this song.
Anyway, this is a great song. One of my favorites.
I personally think the song would have been worse if JBJ sung it. Richie's got such a soulful voice, and this is a soulful song. Jon's voice just doesn't have that same soul to it.
This is a great song. Really good. I love it.
I think it's awesome! and also, Richie is a great vocalist, and obviously he wrote the song for himself to sing so he's the best singer for it. Jon's voice wouldn't have "the same" soul, but you can't say it's not soulful. Jon has such a soulful voice it's painful to listen to sometimes.. :)
Richie is amazing and he should concentrate on the 3rd solo album,I need some relief ESPECIALLY after the lost highway record.
