Innosense Lyrics
innocence
innocence finds you there
innocence
innocence doesn't care
any way you choose
the sun and the son
are true
hold me now
I won't let go
innocence
innocence lets you go
innocence holds you down
any way
any way that you want
and you will be there
with the sun
and you say you don't care
oh, any way
any way that you want
in the love
in the love we're unsung
it's any way
any way that you want
hold it in
innocence in your arms
innocence
innocence holds you there
innocence
innocence doesn't care
innocence
innocence lets you dream
innocence
innocence finds you there
innocence
innocence doesn't care
any way you choose
the sun and the son
are true
hold me now
I won't let go
innocence
innocence lets you go
innocence holds you down
any way
any way that you want
and you will be there
with the sun
and you say you don't care
oh, any way
any way that you want
in the love
in the love we're unsung
it's any way
any way that you want
hold it in
innocence in your arms
innocence
innocence holds you there
innocence
innocence doesn't care
innocence
innocence lets you dream

When i first heard this song I thought "Mellon Collie" instantly. Does anyone else get that feel from this song?
Every song & lyric of the Smashing Pumpkins are just plain beautiful
I've always thought this song was gorgeous and a little sad...He's lost his innosence,as he sees it, and this song has always seemed to be about how much innosence can mean to you before it "lets you go", and that in the adult world it "holds you down." However, after such a precious thing is lost, there is little to do but remember how wonderful the days were when you were innocent and naive...ah,the days of childish youth.
I can't beleive that more people haven't commented on this beautiful song. About the meaning, I think crimsoncrushedrose got it right.
It's interesting how Corgan spelt the word with an "s" - surely a pun for the word "sense" ... Maybe he's trying to get across that innocence is way of sensing, or feeling the world around you; a form of perception, an outlook (possibly on life), which while maybe considered idealistic, can open up many new possibilities, purely through the wide-eyed optimism that lies at its heart.
