Guilty of Being White (Minor Threat cover)

Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat wrote this song after being beaten up for discussing slavery in his history class.

Slayer aren't racists, just cuz Kerry King is bald (as is Ian MacKaye) doesn't make him a white surpremacist. One of the dudes in the badn isn't even white.

They changed it to "guilty of being right" as a way to piss people off and be controversial, not to show their racist attitudes. however, that is still inexcusable even if they aren't really racists.

There are a lot more racist songs out there than this one. Many rap songs are racist because the rappers see blacks and whites as different people who are living in different worlds as opposed to the two races living as the common man where race is irrelevant.

I'm sure this has been said already, but:

1. Slayer changed the lyrics of the song to piss people off. Shocking, I know.
2. Slayer are not racists, the lead singer and drummer for the band are fucking latinos, for fucks sake.

The lyrics are true. What ever happens to 'minorities' here is the white mans fault, as far as they're concerned...And that last verse is accurate. Just like if someone said 'White Pride World Wide', you'll call them a racist, but if they said 'Gay Pride World Wide' you wouldn't say a word..........And what do you mean people aren't 'colours'?? Show me a black Aryan, and i'll leave boot marks on his face......

ROBOTROCK: Ian MacKaye meant "19 years of my time" as in the years he's LIVED (being white). Dude was 19 when he wrote that song. The song was NOT originally written to "critisize caucasians." It was just a "fuck you" to all the (majority) black kids in his school and where he lived that would give him shit JUST for that fact that he's white when he really never did SHIT. thsi isnt even a slayer song originally, its a cover of Minor Threat - Guilty of Being White, in Minor Threats version he doesnt say guilty of being right though, and in this song at the last verse he says "You blame me for everything, a hundred years before i was born" and slayer dont suck,

slayer is the absolute shit and taking this song and making it some huge racist claim is completely unfounded. he's makign the point that he's tired of having to feel guilt for something he in fact has never done. please forgive them for not wanting the burden of a bunch of hick ass lynch mobs fifty years ago

Racism is rife everywhere. But slayer arent racist. I've seen plenty of dark asians at the unholy alliance tour in glasgow.

WTF is "a racist" that makes no sense. Blacks hate whites because our ancestors made some (harsh?) (not saying wrong) decision on what to do with the apes they found in Africa. Everyone is racially informed here, blacks commit crime and steal purses, whites kill families. Every other race does nothing for society (blacks give police officers a job)

It kinda makes sense in that people got pissed off for the song originally so now he's guilty of singing the song which is true. Now guilty of being right about what he sang. But probably just to piss people off which makes more sense to me
