Old L.A. Tonight Lyrics
Look into the future
Look into my eyes and tell me everything's all right
Tell me where we're going
I'm so afraid 'cos I don't know what's going on with my life
But it'll be all right tonight
Will it be all right tonight?
Are we doin' all right in old L.A. tonight?
Sitting by the ocean
Mapping out my plans of action, baby they include you
I wish you'd send a message
Maybe I'm just better off not knowing who knew
But it'll be all right tonight
I'm gonna be all right tonight
Are we doin' all right in old L.A. tonight?
Those summer nights when I look in your eyes
I'm falling to pieces, pieces out of my mind
And I'll never know why
I'm falling to pieces, pieces
Who could you imagine such a thing could happen to you?
It's gonna be all right in old L.A.
Those summer nights when I look in your eyes
I'm falling to pieces, pieces out of my mind
And I'll never know why
I'm falling to pieces, pieces
It's gonna be all right in old L.A. tonight
Look into my eyes and tell me everything's all right
Tell me where we're going
I'm so afraid 'cos I don't know what's going on with my life
Will it be all right tonight?
Are we doin' all right in old L.A. tonight?
Mapping out my plans of action, baby they include you
I wish you'd send a message
Maybe I'm just better off not knowing who knew
I'm gonna be all right tonight
Are we doin' all right in old L.A. tonight?
I'm falling to pieces, pieces out of my mind
And I'll never know why
I'm falling to pieces, pieces
It's gonna be all right in old L.A.
I'm falling to pieces, pieces out of my mind
And I'll never know why
I'm falling to pieces, pieces

Everytime I listen to this song(which is quite often) I cry like a baby...I don't know why but it strikes me as being a rather sad song...
Is he singin to Sharon? I would guess so because his plans of action include somebody...which might as well be his significant other(too bad its not me)
When I listen to this song..I fall into pieces...lol, I am a dork:)
To me this song is about wishing you were with someone that you loved. You want to be with them, and you have plans that include them, but they are no longer with you...something happened and they are gone away, maybe for good..."...and i'll never know why....i'm falling to pieces, pieces..." this song makes me think of my ex...still wish we could be friends....
This has always been my favorite Ozzy song, ever since I was introduced to his music years ago. I'm not sure what it means, perhaps just wishing that things could stay the same and dreading change. All in all, I don't think that it matters, it's just a great song.
I think for the most part PimpSLayer187 hit the nail on the head.
"Look into the future Look into my eyes and tell me everything's all right Tell me where we're going I'm so afraid 'cos I don't know what's going on with my life" It seems he is thinking about his current life and wondering, will it ever get better.
"Those summer nights when I look in your eyes I'm falling to pieces, pieces out of my mind And I'll never know why I'm falling to pieces, pieces" First of all, I think it's "ONE look in your eyes" and I think he is saying every time she looks at him he begins to fall to pieces emotionally.
"Who could you imagine such a thing could happen to you? It's gonna be all right in old L.A." He is saying, how could I have done what I did to you and again wonders if his life will ever improve.
I was listening to this song today and it reminded me of Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue for some reason. I just read The Herion Dairies not too long ago. I thought he was in LA or somewhere around there when he was doing all those drugs at that time. He was in Van Nuys (not sure where that is exactly). So, if it's not about him, then I'd say it's about a friend who is wrapped up in drugs, trying to kill themselve....and just happpen to live in LA. I could be wrong though...I'm sure I am lol
I would like to think he wrote this song for Sharon when she was battling cancer, but I could be mistaken. Not sure of the timeline. Regardless, an amazing compilation that I only wish more people knew about. The instrumentals w/the genius lyrics just come together so effortlessly. Diary of A Madman will always be my favorite, but this song is right up there.
