This song is about the cold war. Back when the Soviets and the U.S. were the only super powers. And, they both hed their nukes pointed at each other waiting for someone on either side to attack. Killer Of Giants!!!

This song is warning others of the dangers of Nuclear Weapons (Think Cuban Missile Crisis). It is sung with a great sadness and concern by Ozzy Osbourne and features great Riffs and a quality Guitar solo from Jake E. Lee.

The killer of giants is the nuclear bomb (Nuke). The giants are the superpowers of the cold war (U.S.A. & Soviet Union). As many have speculated, this song is indeed about the cold war, and the morality / futility behind nuclear warfare; not literal giants or mythology. \n\n"If none of us believe in war\nThen can you tell me what the weapon\'s for"\nThe weapon referenced in this line is the killer of giants, the nuke. It can be interpreted that Ozzy is referring to the false optimism and contradiction\'s regarding the war from the government during the time of the cold war. The sentiment at the time was very confusing with most of the population unsure whether or not they were at war, going to war, or in support of it or not. > If the Government is constantly reassuring the population that there is nothing to worry about and no war at hand, what is the nuclear bomb for?\n\n"Listen to me everyone\nIf the button is pushed\nThere\'ll be nowhere to run"\nThe meaning behind these lyrics are fairly obvious. Ozzy is conveying a desperate plea as to the futility of nuclear warfare, and the devastating consequences to the planet that no one will be able to escape from.\n\n"Giants sleeping giants winning wars\nWithin their dreams\nTill they wake when it\'s too late\nAnd in god\'s name blaspheme"\nHere Ozzy is referring to the constant fear both "Giants" (U.S. & S.U.) shared of bombs dropping at anytime, and many years of war-strategizing and preparation before any physical warfare actually commenced. The sentiment between the giants was that one side or the other would act first, and the other would be too late and unprepared, left only to curse god.\n\n"Killer of giants threatens us all"\nAs long as the nuclear bomb exists in this world, everyone should feel threatened as it has the power to annihilate mankind with ease. \n\n"Mountains of madness standing so tall\nRising so proudly it has nowhere to fall\nThis killer of giants"\nThese lyrics can be interpreted as the direct effects of nuclear detonation and the ensuing cloud, shockwave and widespread destruction. \n\n"Mother nature people state\nYour case without its worth"\nHere Ozzy refers to those (likely politicians) in favor of the nuclear weapon, and how they defend its use with disregard to the effects it has on earths atmosphere and climate. \n\n"Your seas run dry\nYour sleepless eyes are turning red alert"\nThese lines refer to the exhaustion between the powers from both constant fear and alertness, and the paranoia effect it had on them.

i love this song it is one of my favorites from ozzy, he is a great singer

It may be talking about King David because he was the killer of giants. David killed Goliath.

"people state your (Mother Nature's) case for without its worth" "your seas run dry; your sleepless eyes are turning red-alert" This seems to hint at Man going against Nature. So the Giants are not the super-powers, as some have said, but rather those (said) mythological figures that once rules the lands? Those whom we ruthlessly killed. (watch Gulliver's Travels, for a hint) Those who may have built pyramids; those who skeletons have been kept secret from us? Those who we portray only in fairy tales and carnivals or as horror figures?

Wake up! before the giants, dragons, reawaken and we RUN FOR THE HILLS while they take revenge for our blasphemy.
