Dracula From Houston Lyrics

Got no future, great big past.
Little bitty guy on the rim of my glass.
Gotta meet the plane so I can get my monkey,
Teach him to be cool, but a little bit funky.
Got no credit and I got no fear
And I got about a buck so I can buy a beer.
Gotta see a doctor 'bout the words I've said
And I gotta get a bike and I gotta paint it red.

Oh no, we gotta go.
We're not gonna live forever.
Why, why we gotta die?
You know that we'll be together.
Hey, hey, we gotta say.
I could never be a savior.
You don't have to be there
'Cause I'm never, never, never coming home.

Three feet deep in a slow-motion wreck.
I was walking the walk and I was talking to the best.
I was wrinkled and shriveled and stepping out of line,
Playing the end against the middle and losing every time.
I was veinous and heinous and crippled and sad,
Thought I was invincible, the baddest of the bad.
Then I woke up one morning and I stepped out of bed,
Had to get a bike, had to paint it red.

Oh no, we gotta go.
We're not gonna live forever.
Why, why we gotta die?
You know that we'll be together.
Hey, hey, we gotta say.
I could never be a savior.
I know that you'll miss me,
But I'm never, never, never coming home.

Crazy, I'm crazed. I want to tell you that I'm crazy.
Janis Ian, Curtis Mayfield, Lesley Gore, Vidal Sassoon.
How you think-a, how you think-a, how you think they'll take it?
Tell me, how you think they'll take it when they hear it on the moon?
Rebel Joe, wigging Jane, where will he go and where's her brain?
Este noche, enchilada, pinche cabron, mi por nada.

Oh no, we gotta go.
We're not gonna live forever.
Why, why we gotta die?
You know that we'll be together.
Hey, hey, we gotta say.
I could never be a savior.
You don't have to be there
'Cause I'm never, never, never coming home.

Staring in disbelief out at the gloom,
I was forced with remorse to learn the bassoon.
I got real good in about six years,
Starting playing out for a couple of beers.
Then one day I was playing at the gig
And in walked the monkey with a couple of funky friends.
He came right over and said, "This is what you'll do.
You're gonna get a bike. You're gonna paint it blue."

Oh no, we gotta go.
We're not gonna live forever.
Why, why we gotta die?
You know that we'll be together.
Hey, hey, we gotta say.
I could never be a savior.
I know that you'll miss me,
But I'm never, never, never coming home.

I'm pretty sure this song doesn't mean anything. Most of their songs don't.

The Spanish line is actually "Este noche, enchilada, in Chicago, ni por nada." Means "This night, enchilada (indeed a Mexican food), in Chicago, nor for nothing."

Does anyone remember a little thing they used to show on Nickelodean back in the early 80s where this little bitty guy was painted on a glass and the glass would dance around and sing?

Anyway I think this song is about remebering all the silly shit that is stuck in our mind for NO APPARENT REASON and won't just fade away like the memories we would like to KEEP. It's also about how we all have to do some strange things that don't make any sense at the time, but we do them for no reason, just to be doing something. Can anyone translate the Spanish lines?

Oh, if anyone speaks French, how about a translation of Let's Talk About Cars from the Electiclarryland album? I've looked all over for the lyrics but no luck...

I love this song SO MUCH!!!! I have no idea what it's about, but oh well...I agree with dontpanic42 though. I'd say that their explanation kind of makes sense of it...as much sense as you can possibly make of it, I suppose. It would most certainly be good if I found out what ni por nada meant...:-D but I think that an enchillada is a kind of Mexican food........... But yeah...I love "Weird Revolution", coolest CD ever!

OMG! NO WAY!

Actually, I believe it says, "Este Noche, enchilada, pinche cabron, mi por nada." Which is... "This night, enchilada, goat fucker, no more for me."

mr. haynes has made it pretty clear in "Our Band Could Be Your Life" that he dosent really give a shit about the whole "selling out" and signing to a major label shit. I mean, I doubt i'd enjoy spending years riding around on a cramped bus with no money.

I overall think this is a great song. I mean I can hear stuff from their early days in this song, sure its more poppy, but there's nothing wrong with a pop song. I can hear tape loops and vocal trackings all threw this song.
