The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face Lyrics
The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies my love
To the dark and the empty skies.
The first time ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command my love
That was there at my command.
The first time ever I held you near
And felt your heartbeat close to mine
I thought our joy would fill the world
And would last till the end of time my love
And would last till the end of time.
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies my love
To the dark and the empty skies.
I felt the earth move in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command my love
That was there at my command.
And felt your heartbeat close to mine
I thought our joy would fill the world
And would last till the end of time my love
And would last till the end of time.

No comments? Such a wounderful song. Things doenst always turn out the way we think...
Maybe if he/she hadn't thought of her love as a "captive bird that was there at my command, there at my command" things would have turned out differently. It's really not such a wonderful song after all, not to mention it's pretty sappy, anyway.
