Driving Lyrics
Oh loverboy
To you I belong
But maybe one day you'll wake
and you'll find me gone
But loverboy
If you call me home
I'll come driving
I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn
Oh loverboy
I know you too well
And all of my lonely secrets
To you I tell
THe highest of highs
The lowest of lows
I'll come driving
I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn
Stretching away as far as my eyes can see
Deserts and darkness, my hand on the wheel
loverboy, please call me home
A girl can get lonely out here on the road
You see
Some days I find the old ways
Frighten me too easily
I leave my key and say
"I'm too young"
But loverboy
If you call me home
I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn
To you I belong
But maybe one day you'll wake
and you'll find me gone
But loverboy
If you call me home
I'll come driving
I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn
Oh loverboy
I know you too well
And all of my lonely secrets
To you I tell
THe highest of highs
The lowest of lows
I'll come driving
I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn
Stretching away as far as my eyes can see
Deserts and darkness, my hand on the wheel
loverboy, please call me home
A girl can get lonely out here on the road
You see
Some days I find the old ways
Frighten me too easily
I leave my key and say
"I'm too young"
But loverboy
If you call me home
I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn

Great song and great video...gives a great visual in the medium. Love is a great thing when you can find it...
she is tellin him to wake up and relize that she is in love with and wants to take care of him
This song is about a women who is drawn very powerfully to a man that she is not sure loves her, he is her "lover" (they know physicality) but she is unsure of his commitment. She is saying.."If you call me home/I'll come driving" she says "if" she doesn't sound confident, becaause she explains she might not be around anymore: Oh loverboy/To you I belong/But maybe one day you'll wake/nd you'll find me gone....she is waiting for him to call her "home" a place of rest and security. She wants a place to tell her "lonely secrets," he is a place of refuge, she hungers and thirsts for him.....she said she would come to him as long as he wants her, she go anywhere he is, go through anything to get to him: I'll come driving fast as wheels can turn/Stretching away as far as my eyes can see/Deserts and darkness,/my hand on the wheel/loverboy, please call me home" Incidentally, "Driving" is off EBTG's "Home Movies" CD released in '93, I believe it was inspired by the private relationship of the lead singer Tracy Thorn and guitarist/keybordist/singer Ben Watt. It was intimate way of communicating her desire for him. Just Beautiful, and sexy! The "sophist-pop" song has a lulling dreamy sensibility drawing you in to her powerful need for her lover and sense of longing
Another siren of love with a beautiful voice and a great song to go with it.
